There’s no thread on this and I figured I’d stop jamming up the Tea in China thread with this one.

The whole project is produced by Real Bad Man. 30 minute run time.

I'll give it a spin or two cause it's Bold.

not feeling the production.

I mean, I AM, but it's ehh
I don’t like how reap bad man is re-flipping samples from iconic legendary rap tracks. Accordion. Shadowboxing. Tearz. Etc. It’s distracting. I ain’t mad at the other beats.

Liked three tracks it didnt hit for me
fukk with Boldy but this aint it:unimpressed:
I'm not asking for an essay or a thesis, but is it the problem here the production like @Mr. Negative said? Because I think Boldy is improving with every release.

I think this sounds way less lazy than Versace Tape for example. I only liked a few joints on there and it was for the rhymes. I agree with @Mr. Negative that the beats are kind of generic, but I like that there's at least drums and they knock. I think Real Bad Man tried way too hard to be on some "Did ya'll see how I re-flipped Wu, GZA, Meth, and Madvillain joints? :troll:" I found that irritating and distracting. So those joints automatically I'm not feeling.

But I thought Held Me Down, Street shyt, Thousand Pills, Failed Attempt, and Champion were all above average on the beats and mad impressive bars from Boldy.

But Boldy played some a song from his next album with Alchemist last night, and it kinda sounded like Bernadines mixed with SNORT....like @areohbee82 says, it just way outclasses everything Boldy rhymed on from Versace and Bad Man.

@TheDarceKnight sounds like Boldy is killing it, but the beats were kind of distracting on first skim. Reminds me of those old Rhymesayers tapes. I used to like some of that stuff, so maybe it'll grow on me.

I can't get through the Light Bill joint with Meyhem on it. Same with On Ten. He flipped those Accordion and Tearz samples in mad distracting and busy ways. Light Bill in particular is one of the most irritating beats I've ever heard in my life.

It's a testament to three things.

1. No matter how dope you think your beat is, unless it's for a beat tape, remember that the emcee should be the star of the show.
2. If you sample shyt from legendary/iconic rap tracks, it just reminds me that those beats are better. Can I really hear the Shadowboxing sample and not just wanna hear that instead?
3. Less is more. Madlib did great by using that sample for a simple little groove and building other elements around it

then we got this busy nonsense
