Throwback Review: Rhymefest - Blue Collar (2006)

I gave it a 6/10 or 7/10

He obviously has bars and the production was cool but it just didn't fit together overall. It sounded like all the songs had been done before. Which is crazy now because the majority of what comes out today sounds the same to me.

If nothing else, Rhymefest brought Bria Myles to my attention. Big ups to him for that.
In terms of skills, Rhymfest is nice. I don't think he hit his artistic stride until he dropped 'El Che', though.

I did a review of this on another site long long ago, I think it's a slept on album. I think rhymefest was super charismatic, witty and showcased a ton of skill on the album. Didn't have tons of "bars" but his storytelling and personality really carry the record
