If u don't like the album then, u simply don't like the album :manny: TM101 has always been a classic to me. I have not heard too many people who have said tht it wasn't a classic. If u don't like it, there should be no reason for people to try to explain to u why it was so great :manny:

IMO I say thats one of those albums people were "conditioned" into liking......Dude just wasnt saying anything new behind all that hype. Definatly one of those "Everybody says its hot so it must be hot" moments.

A song here and there is fine,I don't look to every rapper for content....its not what every rapper does and if you can't do it great stay in your lane, just like I don't want every rapper tryna make records Jeezy make, stop actin like every rapper with substance is that great at it....Killer Mike is great at it,Saigon is ehhhh and Kanye:wtb:....Nas is doing what Nas does and has been guilty of pandering to that "we want substance" crowd to the detriment of making music he actually cared about up until LIG....damn a grotwth, everybody u named has regressed quality wise from where they started and I've been a big fan of each outside of Canibus....but there wuz a point I wuz a big fan of both....It took Nas one album to start to fall off(illmatic not first nas album I heard)...And took Kanye I think just one album before I wuz through.....Jeezy never had that problem:salute:....about 10 yrs of consistent greatness, just dropped a classic mixtape and as a emcee he on point as he ever been on all fronts....his features this past approx year and a half:blessed:

are u saying that Nas and Kanye haven't grown music wise as the years have passed but Jeezy has?? I totally disagree with such a statement.

the stretch of songs right from the start till Lloyd rolls through on Tear It Up

:wow:

The greatest sequence of songs on a rap album. Hit after hit after hit. quality songs, posse cuts. That stretch is unmatchable

Middle school days :to:
Yeah in my iTunes, I've got eight songs five-starred and seven songs four-starred up to "Tear It Up." But then I gave "Tear It Up" two stars :beli:

Jeezy has grown so much since 101 though. He would not be making songs like this seven years ago ...

Even his aggressive content his changed, in a good way.

Hell, Trap or Die 2 is soooo different from Trap or Die. His music has changed plenty, while staying relatively true to his roots.

How were people "conditioned" into liking it? I liked it bcause I likd it. It seems that u can't accept peoples opinions on music. U want people to think like you do and dislike music that u dislike. Like I said if u weren't feelin the album, cool. Your opinion of good production and lyrics is obviously different than others

U gotta be trolling

Heard the album when it dropped and dismissed it but listened to what u posted for a 2nd time:

1st song u posted is a song about Jeezy drinking alcohol and smoking weed and living everyday like its friday night. Same ol same ol about how he had it hard once and now he's good. Where's the growth when we heard the same thing 2 albums prior? That 2nd verse was on point tho.

2nd song u posted....another song about having it hard back in the day and how he could only make it out courtesy of selling drugs. Wow.....so innovative(sarcasm).

3rd song....Jeezy rapping about balling and how he's not like the fuk nikkaz who dont have the good work like he got it. Trick Daddy sounding like he doing his best Scarface impression. Atleast Trick Daddy was saying something on that song.

I don't care what kind of music or artist you're into, if you can't recognize 101 as a classic, you're being a hater for the sake of being a hater.

It's like trying to dispute 400 Degreez is a classic.

Bottom line. when the album dropped, to me, it sounded like somthing from late 90's No Limit. I just dont see how something that sounded like Late 90's No Limit can be so highly acknowledged in 2005. Thats all im saying.

Like I said previously....Th beats and lyrics weren't anything special so it had to be his street affiliation that gave him his hype. And thats more understanable. If The Harlem drug dealer Rick Porter or Azie had signed to Def Jam and dropped a Hip Hop album with mediocre lyrics, it would be understanable as to why they would get love and support. The love and support is coming more from the street affiliation and not necceessarily the lyrics and beats. This is the conclusion that I assume contributed to the hype behind his debut. And the proof is in the reality that had that same album been done by a regular studio gangster.....it wouldnt have had the same outcome. We'd be looking at Jeezy the way we look at Plies.
