Yea losing Roberson hurt them so much. He definitely would have slowed Mitchell down. Brewer is washed and dumb as fukk. And of course Melo is quite possible one of the worst on defenders in the league. As far as coaching IDK if that will even matter. Russ is the franchise and he’s going to play how he does unless he buys into a system. It’s good for some spectacular games and a playoff berth but that’s probably the ceiling
Man you already know the response will be just shut and up play the game....
You get paid xyz to dribble the ball, you should be luck you're not on section 8, and blah blah blah.

And so many opportunities at the end for OKC in general, couldnt cash in on any of em, oh well

Yea, Roberson let them hold teams at a stand still till someone got in rhythm. Its obvious, these dudes were so used to being "the man" that their tendencies get the best of them, hence so many possessions where the ball maybe gets passed once and doesn't leave that persons hand until its being shot.
Outside of that, Brewer came in cheap and gave them a spark but the man is frail...Roberson gets busy on defense to the point that Brewers offensive contributions (practically nothing in this series) do not compare to the defense Roberson put on that floor nightly.
And you may be right about the coaching might not be mattering, but its a pattern of not reigning guys in. Even times when PG was running the second unit, he is touted as a playmaker, but he was basically doing Russ-lite performances, holding the ball and dribbling too much. Against a lot of other teams that might work,
but Gobert was the difference maker. Everything I have seen shows me that this bizarre ass team could go from this hohum performance this year to a top 3 seed legit next year with an adjustment in late-game behavior. And give Abrines and Grant more time, and take Melo off the 4. There is a lot to be optimistic about
if everyone was honest with themselves. Get guys involved on posessions, stop trying to make Melo be a spot-up guy and alter his role for coming off the bench, and tell Russ and PG not to take dumb ass contested 3's with 16 seconds left on the clock.
