Bro, every company takes years to go public. Tidal just was released. Google and Apple were private for like a decade. However, even though it's not publicly traded you can still make an offer for a percentage of ownership. You just need a few million. 50 cent bought ownership of vitamin water, at the time it was a closed corporation

hence the barrier of entry is higher than $appl or $goog, lol. i can't invest 10g's in tidal...but i damn sure can for them other boys as it stands. black people are benefiting from their competitions as a lot of people have 401k, ira, pension that include the big boys.

tidal success especially if they don't go public anytime soon will hurt our stocks for a few years. people are invested in goog success and appl success...and if either one beats each other we still benefit as they are both public. i can't partake in tidal success as it stands.

The biggest winner in this shyt is Sean Parker. He cofounded Napster which essentially was the beginning of the collapse of the music industry which now currently has everybody fighting for pennies and scraps while he went on to start Facebook and cash out to the tune of $2.4 billion :win: Does he care that he fukked up thousands of people's careers and livelihoods? No :russ:

Yall need to stop making this about race. Jay-Z released an inferior product. He's a hustler. He should know better. There are cheaper options and there are free options. Why would anyone pay more when they can get the same thing for less. The white man holding him back though. Was the white man holding him back when he made the deal with Samsung :russ: Was the white man holding him back when he made the deal with Live Nation or Universal Def Jam to push Dame and Biggs out :russ: I read up on the Spotify founders years ago. The founder only had $1 million cash to start with. That's it. Jay-Z is worth half a Billion dollars. Jay could have started Spotify himself, if he had the vision to do so. He wouldn't have had to seek outside investors for a Series A, B, C or whatever because he's worth half a Billion dollars. White boys in Silicon Valley are starting billion dollar companies out of garages with $100,000...$200,000. The white power structure isn't holding Jay-Z back. He just lost this time.
Exactly . The product is inferior and marketed poorly. Just becAuse he's black I got to support him ? Also isn't jay the one who released that overpriced clothing line in Bloomingdales at the height of the racist stuff ?? :camby: to Jay. When articles about 50 are posted people run in to hate on him

Yo, can everyone just give this shyt a rest now. It has been debated ad nauseum and now people are talking in circles. LIke the past two pages have literally been rehashes of the first 3 or 4 even down to people making the same false claims like (20 dollars a month).

Even if it was a publicly traded company im not sure it would be a good idea to buy now.

Jay doesn't need black fans to go platinum just like he doesn't need black subscribers for Tidal to be a success. Smartenup. Tidal is more expensive but offers higher quality music. If higher fidelity isn't a big deal to you then fine, move on. Stop the hate haters.

What Tidal needs is more A+ acts to plead with the fans to make them richer.

I'm glad he didn't because all the proceeds went to underprivileged inner city kids for college.

But since YOU didn't benefit from it, you don't care.

from what i read tidal is late with the new releases and if you have an apple device they block/push back the updates on purpose to keep the app suffering on the charts :mjlol:

When I heard Jay bought Aspiro I thought "wow that could be a great long term investment for Jay, good job"

I didn't think he was gonna try and take a niche service and compete the the biggest streaming companies in the world. That was retarded as fukkkkkkkkkkkkk.
I've been on lossless music, .flac .ogg .wav all the BS, but most people do not give a single fukk about lossless music, hell most people don't even care if their MP3s are 320kbps

Most people can't tell the difference between lossless and your run of the mill MP3, but Jay thought he was gonna convince people to pay more to listen to music because he told them it sounds better?

Race and the dislike of rappers definitely plays a part in the way the media is covering this situation, but Jay-Z completely mishandled the situation like an idiot. I can help but think Jay is a Stringer Bell, hood nikka that thinks he's smarter than he actually is until he steps in pool with the real sharks and realizes he can't swim with them.

Yep, cause that Brooklyn fly talk he likes so much is not going to be enough this time.

He can't partner up with Android or Apple, Spotify is a factor, and the college kids still love Pandora, plus I mess with Amazon mostly for mp3/CDs and Amazon offers streaming for Prime members.

Not saying Tidal is not going to make it big, but things definitely look challenging.
