Above the fray.
I disagree. He trusted Clef to helm the production and did what he could with what he had. Contractually, he may have had no choice. If he had just rode the hype and got an Illmatic-esque collection of the hottest producers and just went off, he probably would have blown up. Clef gave him a gang of weird shyt sampling trains and Q-Bert:mjlol:

You bugging the fukk out. Canibus was damn near legendary before his album came out. He had damn near the whole game under pressure off guest verses and freestyles. If his first album was handled and produced correctly, rap music history is different.
MF'n Wyclef spoiled it

See my thing is Clef had success as a producer before and after Canibus. So even if we can out some of the blame on him it’s not like Canibus was putting out good music after that
rap song producer success?

Clef is a talented guy, but he fumbled the Canibus project

I know this shyt off the top of my head.
Still one of the funniest lines to me...

"Cause whenever the head is severed from the human body with a sharp enough weapon the brain re-mains conscious for 10 seconds.
Long enough for me deliver you 1 last message so when you go to Hell

Wash is strong but I had Canibus very clear

A lot times who got who on a song is subjective. But fact is, whenever Bis guested on a track, I ALWAYS looked forward to his verse the most and I cannot remember being let down. He could arguably be considered the best thing about an album produced by Dre featuring Nas and AZ. Now that’s saying something.

Canibus is one of the biggest letdowns ever...

He had everybody's ear... kinda like how DMX was the anti-version of what was going on in rap at the time, Canibus was another anti... he was a gritty battle rhyme dude, but he wasn't just appealing to nikkas who just like underground shyt. He was being featured on the Clue tapes, gettin' guest spots and all that...everybody wanted to work with him... he seemed like he was about to really bring the world something special.

Then, that album... sheesh. That was one of the things that solidified to me that a nikka can rap his ass off all day and still make barely listenable music.
