27-35 were under-age when aaliyah was peaking.
adults generally werent paying aaliyah any attention like that. she was kid chit for the most part. so yea, people who are now 28 & over that were seriously into music back then arent really holding her in high-regard either, as evidenced by the posters that have been droppin that napalm bomb on you all thru this thread.
its funny because yall turn your noses up at ciara, but shes basically what aaliyah was in the '90s. the difference is, yall were just wiser & more astute by the time ciara came out.
HARSH REALITIES.
which coincides with the dissappointment in the album sales. dont play dumb. you always play stupid when you feel like youre on the losing end of an argument, especially when it comes to your holy grail of timbaland, missy, aaliyah & the neptunes.
and people already shut you down about this same exact chit in that "aaliyah = ciara" thread, so im not even gonna bother with you on this anymore.
your age argument doesnt work on me seeing that i was off-the-porch before you even got into music like that.and aaliyah herself already told you what it was. what was the name of her 1st album again?
and the only point you made in this post is in my favor. thanks.
we resorting to insults now? i thought i was finally beginning to win you over in recent weeks. thats cool. i wont even chit on you girl.
i like that sassy chit.
saved by the bell has a biopic?
man. yall need to quit with the bolded. yall exposing yourselves. the only chicks that wanted to be like aaliyah were mostly the corny girls and/or the ones that stayed in the house. and even then, monica & brandy had more pull over most of them too.
lol @ aaliyah having some of the most memorable slow jams in the '90s. yall on some Nick Jr chit now.
this monstrous timbaland run that you speak of is POP MUSIC. not r&b.
yall need to stop.
i shut you down on some of this stuff already. you ignored it, and now youre trying to comeback and repeat this stuff a few pages later? youre better than that bruh.
and dude is right. sure, she didnt intentionally hop on the bandwagon, so the way dude said it was kinda harsh. she gave them their 1st major look on the album tip. but by the time her album blew up, they already had bigger stuff going on. AS I SAID IN THE PREVIOUS RESPONSE, WHICH YOU CONVENIENTLY IGNORED.
then you bring this selena chit back up when dude you were quoting had nothing to do with that. you shouldve quoted me. and selena is bigger for her people. shes not for us.
you need to just admit that you had a crush on her and like her beats, cuz thats all i took from this post.
A disappointment in a single is just what it is: a disappointment in a single. When you have an album that debuts at #1 with 187K but the lead single stalls at #50 something, that's pretty major and you want to follow up with an even bigger single to maximize the sales. "More Than A Woman" was going to be the next single, but radio was already on "Rock The Boat" right before the crash. The only one playing stupid is you.
