three years was a LONG time back then. the music game was not stagnant like it is now.

fanmail came out when i started high school. i was coming out of high school when left eye died. and they dropped no soundtrack cuts or nothing in-between then. they were getting married and having kids and stuff.

tlc, swv, xscape, all them niccettes were throwback groups by 2002.
Like i said she only seemed hotter cause she was headed back out. But it was just as much huge deal when left eye died despite them not being on an album run.

Wacky, what's your main debate with spilz? I've been skimming
The problem is whenever theres anything involving Aaliyah he always goes out of his way to shyt on her and claim how "overrated" she is and how she doesnt deserve the love she gets..I mean the fukkin woman is dead give it a fukkin break already...who cares if she gets alotta love..its some real negative hate shyt..it has nothing to do with keepin it "real" like this nikka wanna claim...and theres so many goal posts being shifted the convo is pointless and noone will win..I don't like using this word but the only way I can describe what's goin on is some hatin shyt...I can almost guarantee the artists he's going so hard for on this shyt don't even feel the way he feel...it's terrible at this point..

lol the haters are exposing themselves when they try to downplay her legacy.

Literally, chicks whole style was emulating Aaliyah. It's even like that to this day.

Of course if you were too shy to even look at women back then you wouldn't have noticed.

Brandy was the queen, aaliyah and monica fought for #2.
To me aaliyah made the best music overall. Though both of them sung better than her

honestly I didnt start to really enjoy the show till Ray J came on that shyt permanant and she got a lil less annoying...the best part of that show to me has always been the surrounding characters...I prolly watched like every episode tho...that's how I knew I couldn't stand her character..she made such dumb ass decisions and she was mad outta line and nosey like 99.99 percent of the time..lol

I can't speak on what her career would have been but as a lil dude she stood out to me. She was just too fine. I remember having a major thing for her when Romeo Must Die dropped too. She was getting better and better to me. By that point Brandy had fallen off and Monica was gone, Aaliyah had the top spot at that time to me

that's all it comes down to. brandy had a bigger push out the gate and sold more, but in reality, all three were just as important as the other to the group of girls who were 9-16 when they dropped.

if you don't feel like aaliyah deserves a biopic, that's cool, i kinda agree, but to act like she didn't matter or was the ciara to those two being beyonce and rihanna is absurd.

Aaliyah was the blueprint for this modern age R&B female shyt. She embodied everything from the looks to the style to the music to the likability. There were others before her but no one hit that icon level for the Hip Hop Generation. Mary J was before her yes. But she just didn't have that It factor when it came to being able to do movies etc that Aaliyah had. All these Rhianna type hoes are copycats of her. Brandy was the only one that I would say came close...but something about her was just corny. They aint have it like Aaliyah. You can just see that shyt from the pictures she left behind. And Breh...no bytch is toping that One in A Million video :wow:

It's just hard to explain those times to this internet generation I guess. :manny:
