Biggest disappointments:
  • Dre not really doing R&B.
  • Timbo not having better rappers for his beats.

This beat change at 2:50 when Meek starts is :blessed: and sounds like something from the One In A Million days but it's still 100%fresh. We missed so much.

Timbaland has made classics and bangers sampling everything from Egyptian Pop stars from the 60's, Fela Kuti, the Spiderman theme, the theme to I Love Lucy, to sampling Bjork (breh went on to produce records dor Bjork). Dude made hits making a percussion out of crickets and cicadas. When it comes to range and versatility, Timbaland is leagues ahead of Dre and I rank Dre over Timbaland. Timbaland can go from producing #1 hits for Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado and then take it back to the gutter and produce a record like "3 AM" for Jeezy.
Bruh all of this you list I can go reference where Dre did it and he’s done it bigger and LONGER than timberland ... that’s facts .... nikka was producing top 10 hits like “No More Lies” & “Nicety” for Michel’le while crafting the classic DOC album front to back .... when he was crafting top 10 hits for Gwen Stefani he was simultaneously doing “how we do” for Game and 50 cent ...no matter what you bring up I can go to Dre’s catalogs and give more examples because he’s been doing it longer than Tim...that’s facts

fukk sampling movies Dre scored the entire bad boys film ... Tim? Not so much

what classic hip hop albums has timberland ever done front to back or even had the overwhelming majority on? Has he ever even done this period? :francis:

P has
Premo has
Rza has
Kanye has
Rick Rubin has
Marley Marl has
Mannie Fresh has

And of course DRE has... not just once but Several Times And nikkas are in here having this conversation :comeon:

C’mon man ...let’s get real here

Think about it. You really can't play any Timbaland beat and have a yungin say "that sounds Old School." You can with Dre's. Not saying it's better, but, Tim's stuff has never aged.

Aaliyah's album came out 22 years ago and could drop tomorrow.
This is nonsense ... all these kids listen to in rap nowadays has trap influence .... if you played them

Timbaland entirely produced JT's 20/20 Experience 1&2, helmed Jay Z's Magna Carta and Beyonce's self titled album all in the same year as recent as 2013.

In 1999, he entirely produced Ginuwine's 100% and Missy's Da Real World while producing key songs on Jay Z's Vol. 3 and working with Nas.

Timbaland was simultaneously producing hits (bigger hits) for Pop acts, R&B artists and rappers.

And I never said that Timbaland's catalog was >>>>>>>> Dre. I don't even know why you're even arguing that. I even mentioned this in the post you quote specifically saying Dre catalog >>>>>>>>>.

If you're saying Mannie Fresh and P have front to back Hip Hop classics, Timbaland definitely has done it especially if you're arguing Hell Hath No Fury and 400 Degreez. I put Timbaland over both Mannie and Pharrell. Chad and Pharrell as The Neptunes have a better case. Pharrell by himself? No.

Breh, you cherry picked three songs from before Timbaland's style was fully developed. That's like going back and picking three obscure album cuts from a World Class Wreckin Crew album just to illustrate how dated Dre's production is. Come on now.

Edit: Actually, that Babyface track would still go today. It even has trap elements in sections and this was before trap was trap. Those stuttering/rolling hi hats circa 1996/1997.

This thread still going and nobody has yet brought up the fact that Dr.Dre, like Kanye has a "team" that helps him produce. In other words, "Ghost Producers" who make the shyt, and Dr.Dre just stamps his name on it. :heh:

Not to take anything from Dre as a producer.... :whoa: I'm just stating facts.

Maybe back during "The Chronic" era Dre was legit making that shyt on his own... but by the time Eminem came around that shyt was a wrap.

This dude "Left.A1" keeps finding these random ass unknown Timbo tracks... but somehow doesn't find any of the hundreds (yes hundreds, check Wikipedia) of chart topping classic/timeless tracks that Timbo produced. :mjlol:

Bruh...some many ill timbo beats wasted on the likes of Magoo, Sebastian...some nikka named DOE....:beli:

i remember a thread on here a while back were nikkas were taking Timbo to task for his lack of bangers and im like he got em:noah:

they just got the corniest of bars and hooks over them :aicmon:

then he was such a hitmaker, that nikkas like Jadakiss or Fab or Nas went to him for the pop shyt so...:francis:

I'll give the slight edge to Dr. Dre because his stuff was always ahead of the curve. I mean Dre's stuff doesn't even need to be remastered, Dr Dre is both a producer and he's self taught in sound engineering so even his older beats are crisp like fresh apples.

Timbaland has worked with a wider array of styles and voices so his stuff definitely crosses more spectrums so he definitely gets credit for his great versatility, only downside is that some of his dopest beats were with subpar artists.
