Then there's the bunch of people that dapped the post that Justin should link up with Pharrell instead. Like Justin didn't do just that with Man of The Woods. In fact it was The Neptunes reuniting for that album. They helmed it. It even had Danja on it. He had a solo production on it. That album is not only the lowest selling album in his catalog. It is by far his worst.

Saint Denson is definitely credited in the liner notes for the album

He had to sue to get the liner notes credit. But what he said was that Swizz said he "produced" the track, when all he did was just pass it to someone else. He didn't spend any time working on the record with Styles, at all. SD gave the full track to Swizz for Swizz's album. But when he decided he couldn't use it, Swizz passed it to Styles. SD caught up with Styles and said Styles didn't even know who he was or that he did the beat. My old A&R at Interscope/Ruff Ryders said Swizz told everyone he did the beat and was "trying something new". Because the sh*t didn't even sound like one of his!

Swizz is another one who takes beats from lesser known producers and passes them off as his own. This is a thing in the business now. It's been going on for a minute though.

This is anninterview with Saint Denson talking about "I Get High (Good Times)". Says nothing about suing Swizz for credits. The song came out on both Swizz and Styles albums. More importantly, Swizz didn't make the beat, but he did in fact produce the song because he's the one that put Styles on the record. He didn't simply slide Styles a beat. He had Styles in mind when he heard the beat:



I don't see how we have a whole thread about artists who passed on beats that became hit records. That thread within itself should be Music Production 101. You can have cooked up the greatest beat ever, but it takes the right artist paired with the beat to elevate it. Otherwise, so many classics would have just sat on the shelf.

I didn't even listen to Man of The Woods. I just know JT x Timbo is a tried and true combination in music. There's no reason to come in here and talk about all this other shyt that doesn't have anything to do with the two of them. They make great music together and Timbaland is my favorite producer of all time besides Pharrell and Ye'

It's crazy how easily people forget. Making music isn't easy, but he's made great music for 3 decades time after time. His music cuts through the pack over and over again and people have alot of nerve talking down and crazy on this man's name and work. I don't understand what he did to deserve any kind of hate. None of the producers today can touch the shyt he did in 96'.

Well, Chad is also suing Pharrell for not crediting him on songs they've done together. This is why Kelis said Chad needs to "grow a pair". Because according to Chad, he's been doing sh*t with P and the credits say Pharrell is the only one on these records. He also said he's suing to figure out why he's not being paid for the N.E.R.D. merch that Pharrell was selling, but he hasn't seen any bread from.

He spoke with a few outlets about it. He said he worked on that album too, on joints with P, but wasn't credited for the work. He said there's a lot of Neptunes work that he did, where he was cut out and not credited for what he was doing.

He does a lot of stuff solo. But Chad said he's been there with him on tracks, but he wasn't credited or paid for them. I know right now, Pharrell said he's working on new music for N.E.R.D., but he didn't say anything about Chad being there too. So who knows what the deal with them as a group anymore? That Kelis situation shed a lot of light on how certain people weren't getting paid.

Pharrell had to pay like $2.9M for that Marvin Gaye situation. So he's been working like a madman since. Selling his cars and jewelry. Making mad music and taking jobs in fashion. I imagine because he took a crazy hit in that other lawsuit.

This is when he was making a majority of the beats and getting "co-production" credit for them because Tim was overseeing his process and talking on the tracks or rapping on them, lol.

He said he was making all those beats alone and then Tim would come in and ask him to adjust a few things and then when the track would come out, Tim would be listed as the producer. LOL!!

Funny you say that bc Im around the same age as Danjah and I went to VCU and most of my friends were from 757. This is around the time 757 felt like the center of the world (Pharrell, Timbo, AI, Vick, Plaxico, etc) and everybody from there claimed to know one of them, they auntie, they brother, etc

But my nggas were legit tight with him, went to HS with him, to the point they’d be deadass like ‘if Nate blows up we dropping out to be the entourage’. With a straight face
