We all agree that the Wolves need to go after Thibs with everything this summer right? Give him whatever he wants, they need him as their coach.

Honestly, I don't think he's a great big man coach, and would stall KAT's career

Impossible for him to do that, the talent is too apparent & overwhelming, the Wolves need help on defense now more than anything else. He was part of the coaching staff that used KG properly too.

I mean KG was already developed and in his prime when he came to the Celtics. I'm seeing all the young big men he handled in Chicago. Noah, Gibson, Asik, etc. He basically made them screeners, rebounders, pick and roll, and pick and pop players. Do I think he'll make KAT better defensively? Of course, that's his gift. Noah and Gibson have become great defensive bigs under Thibs. But as far as offense, I'll shudder to think of KAT's skills being handicapped to be just a cut to the basket, and pick and roll player :scust:

Someone like a Phil Jackson, Stan Van Gundy, or Pat Riley would be a GREAT big man coach. Hopefully Wolves can get someone similar to that

And while KAT isn't fully developed yet all his offensive skills are there and he's made use of them this year, while Taj, Noah and Asik were all limited offensively, Asik can't even catch a basketball man. He used Pau properly last seaosn and truth be told he allowed Noah to basically be a point center one year, bringing the ball up and letting offense run through him. If you give him a talented big like KAT I have no doubt he'd allow him to flourish, he's not a great offensive coach but KAT is in the mold of traditional big he's seen before, only difference being KAT has three point range.

Yeah true, I agree with that. My only fear is that I'm not sure Thibs is a coach that can coach a versatile big like KAT. Similar why I didn't think Anthony Davis would fit with Thibs. A big like Hakeem also wouldn't be the greatest fit for Thibs. A big like KAT can do many things on offense, and I fear Thibs won't know how to nurture that talent. But you right, Thibs is a good coach and made Noah be a point forward sometimes. We'll see :manny:

There are differences between KAT and AD though, the glaring one is that KAT's back to the basket game is much further along than AD's. It's easier to build around a dude that has a back to the basket game than it is to build around a faceup guy, especially when the back to the basket guy can do faceup things. And the fact he's used bigs in the past in so many different ways leads me to believe he'd use KAT in all of those roles. This would be the first time he'd have a young big man that can do all the things he's asked Noah, Gibson, Pau, Boozer and Asik to do rolled up into one player, so I think you'd see KAT doing a ton of things and using his versatility. He let Noah put the ball on the floor, he let Pau post up & take threes, he let Boozer take jumpers, he let Taj roll to the rim....KAT can do all those things.

No the talent level is down, because those moafukkas were never good enough to play in this league before now. They were straight garbage. They had 7 footers shooting 3's, but they couldn't post up on the blocks or rebound. They don't like physical play nor do they play much defense. Americans used to run the Europeans right out of their own buildings and that is even when the Europeans were using their pros against the American amateur players.

Exactly, in order to make the game more universal, they had to water it down a bit, since the Euro's really couldn't bang down low....pause.
