Our offensive line is not good and we don't have the personnel for a jumbo set, meaning in short yardage situations there's no realistic way for us to be any better than the poor form we've shown this year. Also, Malik. He's a one-read QB who's every throw is a roll of the dice. Watch back some of our drives and just look at where the ball is not going, and when, and you'll see how many yards and points we leave on the board strictly because of QB play. Let's not even get into how bad he is with the read option.
You're not going to have a Top 10 offense if you don't have the personnel to convert on short yardage and your QB has to have his hand held via pre-determined passing targets that he inconsistently completes to.
Now with all that being said, not being creative in getting JT/Cager/Deejay the ball in their hands has been a huge issue and one that doesn't even make any sense. JT is a bigger part of the gameplan Saturday. That's good. Keeping Herndon involved all four quarters and getting Deejay the ball in his hands 5-10 times in various concepts needs to be part of it, too.
