I dont doubt that staying hurt and rehab aint fun. He does get respect for pushing through. And it is unfortunate he keeps getting hurt. But he is also being paid millions and he has access to the top medical people.

Part of the game is the war of attrition. The long season is part of the deal. Plenty of dudes would look great if they only had to play less than half the season (on average) and then you put em on a squad capable of making the playoffs despite that against a bunch of dudes that played all year.

So in short, you cant be mad at him for getting hurt but he doesn't get props for everything outside of him that allows him to show up at the end of the marathon looking all fresh for once.

EXACTLY....

TYPICALLY IF A TOP PLAYER
MISSES MORE THAN HALF THE SEASON
HIS TEAM ISNT GOING TO MAKE
THE PLAYOFFS.

KAWHI HAS THE LUXURY
OF COMING BACK TO A PLAYOFF TEAM
RESTED

Kawhi is playing a whole different game though. He literally has to work his way back to being an nba player…then he to become elite again. There’s not many players that can do that.

Kerr literally said the reason why team USA cut Kawhi was because he looked like a shell of himself. Now look at the Kawhi you saw last night. That’s greatness in itself.

It’s not like Kawhi is just going out at the level he’s at then simply load managing and returning. Nah he has to regain that form.

Can we even name another athlete that’s rehabbed and climbed that mountain over and over like Kawhi did? Even with the best doctors and trainers at their disposal…only Kawhi has done this.

How many guys have played < half the possible games in the course of 6 years and not only still had a job, not only still got big money but also had a playoff team waiting for them? We have seen other guys have injury issues and they asses had to either play or get out the way. The concessions made by the Clippers are unprecedented, especially for a guy that hasn't done anything for the franchise. Kobe won 5 chips for the Lakers before they paid him to rehab but that was only a couple years...not more than half a decade.

You get props for overcoming all he has, but you only get so much when you can only do it with training wheels on. Imagine how good Steph or Bron or KD let alone some of these younger dudes would look right now after playing 37 games all year and then being dropped into a functional playoff team.

A lot of people have given up due to injuries that shyt is psychologically challenging. Not talking about fully giving up, but just not going 120%, trusting the process not front running your schedule etc.

If anything Harden needs his flowers. For all the shyt he gets he kept the Clippers afloat with Kawhi barely playing and Powell missing some time too.

Zubac too he’s having a career year and the Clippers defense is 4th in the league.
Yeah he deserves some credit but it ain't like he was carrying a roster full of bums. There's a lot of quality vets on that team.

Team got rid of PG and media experts were saying they were going to be a 13 seed.

NBA Predictions! Here are 36 bold takes for 2024-25, including one for every team

The team was absolutely written off this past off-season. Not to mention all the morons here who insisted the Clippers off-season was bad.

Like @KFBF said no one expected the Clippers this year to achieve as much as they did. So I’m not gonna deny the bearded Heliflopter his credit
