Times changed, I got older or something because I cannot listen any album with over 10 songs anymore. I love WATTBA and just figured it having a low amount of songs allowed for me to listen to the album and make an informed opinion. I tried to listen to Black Market and I just cannot listen to 18 or whatever tracks of the same person. Lowered number hip-hop tracks are coming back but I look back like was life that slow that I had to give a rapper 80+ minutes of my life?

Who else feels this way?

i wouldn't go as low as 10 but 10-14 seems to be the right number of songs IMO with 14 being on the higher end, only if they're all dope. i've felt this way for a long time tho, i never liked those No Limit 27 songs on one cd fukkin things. i could go to about 18 if i like the artist but usually after 12 it tends to go downhill

The most I could listen to were albums up to TES and Recovery plus Dr Dre's 2001. The Blueprint was great because it had a low number of songs and each song was strong. No Limit messed the game up with a million tracks so they can charge a little more. Up to 15 and that artist had to do their thing because I get tired. I want to listen to different albums in a compact time. I love GRODT but I can't offer the time anymore.

it's not even about the time for me, i mean i listen to 3 hour podcasts (usually not all at once but usually a good hour here & there). it's more the fact that if there 3-4 mediocre or bad songs in a row then i'm not gonna listen anymore. if you're an artist i like then i might give you the benefit of the doubt and keep riding with it but if you're new or someone i struggle listening to already then i don't bother. most artists are going back to the "less is more" approach tho which is good IMO

I know so many young nikkas that would rather listen to the Internet vs black market any day of the week

Yes but I can't listen to anything long besides an interview. Less is more. Albums can get streamed more often. I may check out Pusha T. I hope he doesn't bore me to death. I realized always liked Malice more.

Right, not you specifically but generally speaking I've noticed a change in the young listener's ear and there are similarities in what you've described as contributing factors.

We're seeing another shift in sound and format
