THUNDER BUDDIES
incorrect because food in england isnt much more expensive than usa and we dont pay tips

BUT IT IS MORE EXPENSIVE RIGHT?

FOOD COST + LABOR + 30%ISH= PRICE OF FOOD.

YOU GUYS MOST LIKELY HAVE CHEAPER FOOD COST OR A SLIMMER PROFIT MARGIN. EITHER WAY YOU ARE PAYING.

nah its not more expensive, i live in both england and america i kindda know what im talking about.

WHICH IS IT?

People who compare these small European countries to the US kill me. If tipping got eradicated the price of everything on that menu would jump exponentially here in the states. Believe that. The US is not England or Italy or Portugal. People are gonna understand that one of these days I hope. I really do. Like all these folks finding out 'universal health care' isn't as free as they thought it would be. Bu...bu...but they don't pay this in (insert European country barely larger than the state of Maryland).

I tip. Unless you wanna pay much more money at these restaurants than tipping would ever take out of your pockets then you will tip too. The alternative is worse. I'm amazed at how folks need it rubbed in their faces before they get this. The alternative is always worse. Keep making comparisons to some small country overseas though.

Tipping in London's Restaurants It is customary to leave 10-15% of the bill when eating out. However, restaurants often add on a service charge (usually 12.5%), especially if you're in a large group, so it's worth checking your bill if you don't want to tip twice. It's not customary to pay a tip for fast food, self-service or takeaway meals. Top tip: Although restaurants (and other businesses) should make their policy clear, it's worth checking with your waiter that he/she will personally receive your tip rather than the company – particularly if you're paying by credit card.

Guess some people must've not gotten the no tipping memo out there.

A Fast Food Person Takes Your Order And Then Tells You To Stand To The Side How The fukk Is That Comparable To Someone Who Waits On You For Up To And Over An Hour Fetching Whatever You Ask For?

A Good Waiter Has To Know How To When The Time Is Right To Show You Enough Attention But Not Too Much To Annoy You

They Can Give You Good Food And Drink Suggestions

They CarryThe Food And shyt To The Table, And Deal With Multiple Tables At A Time

Im Not Even Scratching The Surface

How Is That Comparable To Someone Who Says "That'll Be $10.75 Step To The Side" For The 10 Seconds You Deal With Them?
Its comparable when you consider the fast food worker also cleans tables, sweeps, mops, washes dishes, preps and cooks food, cleans restrooms, washes windows, takes out trash, receives and stocks inventory, etc.

retail employees do some of these tasks and get no tip. You cant compare fast food and restaurants employees.

When dude says all they do is take your order and stand to the side, he's wrong. The jobs are very comparable. One just brings your plate and refills your drink. The fast food worker does more work though.

Depending on the restaurant or bar, you'd be surprised by how much work the wait staff actually does. It's much more than just bringing your food out. Have any servers posted in here? And I'm curious to see how these same people feel about tipping bartenders. :leostare:
