While I grew up in a two parent household, I can definitely see this side of it. If they never had men in their households/lives I can see them "not needing a man" to survive/provide because they've been taught by their mothers who didn't have time to cry and whine about a man not being there to depend on themselves. What they fail to realize is a man is more than a provider and we definitely need them.

He’s almost all the way correct. The powers that be have been the MOST successful at subtracting and minimizing the Black man in their families lives, and communities. It’s really elementary. Do the science. So I agree with TK.
Never heard a black woman say this in my family or friends circle, I've never said it. It's divisive talk like this that will push us against each other- preaching negativity into existence. Reacting to a few misguided or self sabotaging individuals are not representative of our entire gender. Both black men and women need each other for support and to present a united front against a common enemy.
