While I grew up in a two parent household, I can definitely see this side of it. If they never had men in their households/lives I can see them "not needing a man" to survive/provide because they've been taught by their mothers who didn't have time to cry and whine about a man not being there to depend on themselves. What they fail to realize is a man is more than a provider and we definitely need them.

It's definitely a thing among black women who have daddy issues or trust issues concerning black men.

There is a certain type of bw who have never had a father, step father or any positive black male role models in their life so those types are skeptical or cautious about marrying bm who are the traditional types. These types usually envision themselves as working mothers without actually needing a bm as a father who is a provider in the household.

Not sure if you've dated bw but there are definitely many bw who are skeptical if a bm who is atrractive, hardworking traditional, not lazy, no criminal record wants to date them.

There definitely broken bw out there. I've dated girls who dad's were locked up or murdered and something is always off about them emotionally.
