I have never done exhaust work on my own just out of inexperience but these look like they will bolt up without wielding

These converters will bolt up to any header (factory or aftermarket) and any exhaust (factory or aftermarket). These pipes also retain the factory Oxygen sensor location.
Yeah found this and it looks doable. Not sure I'll be able to lift it enough though to do it.

2010 Nissan Altima, just over 107k miles on it... hoping to squeeze 2 more years out of it

If the lower oil pan was cracked that's not a terrible repair, neither is the oil cooler if it's the 4 cylinder. You should be able to get two more years out of it assuming it's decently maintained.

OK, so the starter appears to have completely gave up the ghost in my whip.

I initially thought it was the battery, but the battery ain't even a year old and it's not dead. it was intermittently starting, til memorial day, when it conked out for good.

I ordered a new starter from ebay for like $80. auto zone wanted $360, and the wait time was identical. unfortunately, that shyt was broken, so I had to get a refund while I ordered another one, which just came today.

I'm a novice mechanic at best, but after studying YT university, if I can get my hands where they need to go, I can replace this starter.

so for the last week, my car been on jack stands just waiting for the part. I'm intimidated by the job, but I think I can do it. :whew:

I'm getting this knock on my left wheel whenever I turn the wheel all the way or most of the way to the left. Mechanic told me it was an axle, another mechanic said it was ball joints and tie rods, took it to the dealership they told me I need a whole new differential which is apparently a $9000 repair (I don't think I'm doing this). Taking it to yet another mechanic this weekend because my temperature gauge/radiator been going ape shyt for quite awhile to be honest.

I can't wait to not need a car.

Is the car not getting up to temperature or is it running too hot? Or is the temp gauge all over the place? In terms of the knocking, you can check the suspension by jacking the front of the car up (with a jack stand hopefully for safety) and shaking the wheel on each side at the 3 and 9 position on the wheel, and the 6 and 12. To check the ball joints, if you have a jack handle and the wheel off the ground, use the handle with 1 end angled towards the ground, the middle part pushed up against the tire and you holding the other end; try and push the wheel in and out, if there's play in the joint you'll hear it make a clunk sound or you'll see it move. Any sort of play means the ball joint is bad; there's not supposed to be any play in the joint at all.

Note: some ball joints can be purchased separate of the control arm and can be pressed in and out to save yourself some money.

Get a Denso starter if you don't want to do the job twice; that's what came on the car I think. Oh yeah..do NOT forget to disconnect the battery unless you like living dangerously. A flex head ratchet and maybe a swivel socket are going to be your friend. It's doable just take your time and be patient. One thing though before you take it all apart -- be sure the ground strap that the starter uses isn't corroded or broken; it looks like a green braided wire similar to rope material. If that wire is broken or corroded, you may not need a starter. Just a heads up.

It goes right of center when I gun it.

I've had to get the radiator replaced twice, and the temperature guage itself is trash and had to be replaced.

So imma have the same mechanic who fixed the radiator before look at it and hopefully someone can give me clarity on this knock. The dealer told me it couldn't be repaired and had to be replaced, but could probably go for some time, i just have to watch the fluid levels.

I really don't believe none of these nikkas to be honest, and I can't jack my car up and work on it myself like I did back in the day because I have an apartment.

Usually if the differential goes out it makes a rumbling/growling noise due to the pinion gears grinding against the coupler for the differential. They can be rebuilt. A coolant pressure test can determine if you've got a leak somewhere. I'd start there.

i've had my check engine code in my wrangler come back as a catalytic converter or 02 sensor issue a few times. i'm not paying for the cat so i just do a fuel injector treatment and drive around for about 20-30 miles and the light goes off and i pass emissions that way. i did this in febuary this year and the check engine light hasn't came back since. i did this the year before, it came back around a year later so i did the same treatment. it works to pass emissions and the cars performance is fine.

i have another car now so i'm even less worried if it's really a cat issue lol

It's a knock, a single knock, and only does it on the left side. Like it literally feels like a shoulder or elbow popping if that makes sense.

Almost nothing on a car is that hard to do. The problem is you have to have the tools and equipment to do the shyt. :usure:
