We don't know what his investments include, or what percentage of that monthly income is from music (royalties). He might have significant investments. He might not. We don't know. We do know he has multiple restaurants, and assuming he has an owner stake that would provide nice monthly income.
Which makes me wonder whether Kelis' lawyers want to see his assets. I wouldn't be stunned if he has 2-4mil in investments (stock, index funds, etc).

8 mill in cash and 175k a month is impressive considering it's the lowball number for the courts that don't include his other assets and investments.
I bet the majority of those people on those fake networth sites that have $50 million and up net worths couldn't come up with 8 million in cash without selling their house, cars, jewelry, etc.

two things
1. Cash is only one asset. He could have $10 million in investments (stocks, bonds, treasuries, etc) and it wouldn't be included in this release.
2. Well yea, people who thought Nas had hundreds of millions of dollars weren't well informed. You can't assume he got x amount from y sale without knowing the percentages involved.
Long story short: Nas is rich and life is good.
