The talks have been going on for months, but are now at a serious stage with a meeting recently being held at TNA's offices with representatives of the investor group.

It isn't clear whether only a percentage of the company or 100% ownership would be sold, but it is believed that the new group is unlikely to get involved without owning a controlling interest in TNA.

Also uncertain is who will actually run the company if the sale goes through.

The speculation of the possible identity of the interested party has been way off, which rules out the obvious suspects like WWE, Eric Bischoff, the Jarretts and Shane McMahon.

In particular, Viacom doesn't seem to have any interest in buying TNA, despite Impact drawing higher ratings than Bellator, as pro wrestling can't generate the same amount of revenue from corporate sponsorships and advertising sales as mixed martial arts can.

The people involved are from outside the wrestling business and have been successful in a number of other businesses.

The fact Hulk Hogan hasn't been re-signed by TNA suggests the new ownership group aren't marks for him and isn't a key to the deal being made, otherwise they'd have made sure to keep him under contract.

yeah man - even with the struggle storyline...just having talented guys in the group would have made it tolerable. They had Bully, D-Von, D-Lo Brown, Tazz, Garrett Bischoff, Mike Knox, Ken Anderson and Festus.
Funny thing is I really liked Doc in his role and thought it was a tailor made fit for him. The butchered that angle something fierce though

Yeah, he actually wasn't bad. I thought the Director of Chaos / Doc name was cool too. Just next to a whole bunch of other lesser role players, it didn't really help much.

Jake The Snake wants to buy it. :gladbron::gladbron:

I just started a campaign on indiegogo...I am gonna try to use an indiegogo to buy TNA...I watched for 10, 12, 15 years, however long it’s been out there and they suck. I guarantee you if I get the opportunity, in a matter of six months I’ll be pissing Vince McMahon off. My numbers will beat his, I guarantee you that.
:mjpls::mjpls:

This has to be some fake shyt

Court Bauer recently discussed the rumors of TNA being potentially sold and listed some people that he says he knows are interested. Check out the highlights:

Jeff Jarrett:
"Jeff has gotten together a few individuals who could possibly fund the buying of TNA. He's been good with getting investors in the past, see Ring Ka King and he's one of the few guys who can find the finance for projects. We don't know what the company is earning right now, so Jeff is trying to assess the weaknesses, how to run the business and has been on the sidelines looking in. Back when Jeff ran the company before, we hardly heard of any issues with money or payouts. Jeff is the better solution right now."

Dixie Carter: "Dixie has no real involvement in this sale. She might at this point only be a on-air talent right now, as i've not heard of anything involving her backstage."

Eric Bischoff: "Eric Bischoff is another interested party. Eric and 'his people' would probably be in the mix to finance a move"

Mystery Celebrity: ""The third, is someone I can't mention by name, but this is the kind of person who does have money. It could be a step down for them, and its probably not a great company for them to marry up to. Their "Wrestling IQ" is that of someone who knows enough to be 'dangerous'. I use the word 'celebrity' lightly here."

Spike TV: "Would Spike be interested in this? That would be my choice. But you have to look at Bellator and that wasn't a great investment. I don't know what TNA would be worth, but lets look at what WCW went for. Speaking of which, what about Vince & WWE? It would be counter productive. What does it do for the industry? Vince isn't in the same place, where he was with WCW. He has to be careful with what he does in Wrestling. Would he be tempted? Doubtful. None of these suitors really have the funds to go after WWE. What would they do TNA anyway? Its probably better for them to push NXT instead. Would they put it on the WWE Network Exclusively? Maybe TNA want more then WWE rate the company is worth. WWE Could be a suitor, buts its unlikely."

Panda Energy: "They might just keep hold of the company too for now too. They might just keep trucking along for another few years. This might happen tomorrow, or next year or never. Its all to be determined."

UPDATED:PWInsider reports that Panda Energy executive Janice Carter has issued a memo to TNA employees teling them that any rumors that they were trying to sell their ownership stake in TNA are untrue. Carter (who is Dixie Carter's mother) noted that Panda Energy remains committed to the company.

ORIGINAL: Here is the latest report on the potential sale of TNA. Word is that there is a very interested party, and that they are someone fans would know. The potential buyer is also said to have money behind them, but may come off as a surprise buyer to some.

There are also reports that an unnamed celebrity has shown interest, but the name was not given.

While the Carters may not be rushing to sell the company, they are definitely listening to offers.

TNA will not have any buyers, and I only see WWE taking bobby rhode and maybe joe, but he'll get some dumb ass gimmick. It's pretty much back to the indies for them nikkas. ROH about to be reborn.

As a follow-up to our report earlier today about a certain individual seriously interested in the sale of TNA, WrestleZone can now reveal that Billy Corgan is one name coming up a lot right now.

Best known for his days as the frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins, Corgan is a notorious wrestling fan, and also the one behind independent wrestling company, Resistance Pro Wrestling.

One current TNA star and two former stars have all verified that Corgan's name is making the circles behind the scenes in TNA. While no concrete details are available at this time, and no public statements have been made by either party regarding this possibility, current water cooler talk in TNA is pointing to Corgan as a potential candidate.

We'll keep you updated on this story as more information becomes available.

breh I'm a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, I would :noah:if Corgan bought TNA. Can you imagine all of the Smashing Pumpkins music they would use for their highlight packages and show theme songs? Imagine if they used this song to make a video promo showing the histoy of AJ Styles going rouge earlier this year becoming a drug addict leading to his victory at Bound For Glory overcoming the odds:

- TNA has reportedly ended their working relationship with Ohio Valley Wrestling as of this week in a cost-cutting measure. The belief is that all TNA contracted talent will now be asked to relocate to Orlando. This is not yet official, though.

TNA Wrestling has announced that the November 21-23 Impact Wrestling TV tapings will be held at Soundstage 19 at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. The studio size for Soundstage 19 is 16,500 square feet. The sound stage reportedly has dressing rooms with showers, hair and make-up rooms, wardrobe and talent holding with kitchen support. It also has the capability of fiber and satellite transmissions. The old Impact Zone was Soundstage 21 at Universal Studios and was 22,000 square feet.

The events will once again be held free of admission.
