after the split

speaking of math...its summer, traffic always goes down in the summer so before you mention that 75k drop off in the arcadium, all other forums are down from last month as well


as for modding. there were 4 mods in the arcadium, liquid was the only one regularly doing anything. adding more mods was something me and brooklynzson had talked about long before the split.

do the new rules sound too tough? thats debatable are they impacting the forum tho? theres been 4 posts and/or threads deleted in the past week...doesnt sound like the modding is too strict at all when you really look at it


maybe if you actually went in threads in the film room instead of looking at the most recent reply times you'd see that the forum is striving. posters are engaged, discussions are expanding, the overall morale of the forum is high, a movie club was just put together entirely by the posters. its been an impressive start of a brand new forum that shows no signs of slowing down. meanwhile in here, its bytching and moaning about nothing & making arguements using misinformation like usual

Now that one side has more talking points and numbers to fuel that debate, dudes want to take their ball and go home. Now it's out of control. If you want to make a major change like that. Consult the users. Have an official vote that isn't rigged. If the users want it, give it to them. If they don't want it, leave it as is. Very simple.

@cook we got plenty of people here who use twitch, even got multiple streaming/twitch threads on here, if you needed help setting up a twitch account all you had to do was ask one of us. But I dont think it'll strive. You'd be better just putting up a twitch button on the top of the arcadium and when people click on it, they'll see whose streaming at the moment.

setting up a twitch account is not something i need help with(), it was the logistics of getting a chat room going at the same, figuring out which xenforo chat software would work best for us.

i might be better off taking the easy road and doing what you mentioned but i was @ed to a thread you might have read if you werent too busy stat watching and asked about doing it this way and i went ahead and looked into it

and this is hardly voicing an opinion, its voicing your agenda. you were probably the single most vocal opponent of the split and while the last thread about the split had a bunch of people saying how they were originally against it but now like, you're still on the same fukk shyt. in the entire debate leading up to the split, you were saying the film room would flop and not have enough activity, now you say the arcadium is dead. speaking of the arcadium, if you don't give "2 fukks" about it then why are you making this thread?

if you really give a fukk about this forum maybe you should try coming up with an interesting thread about your interests and get other members involved with the discussion. you got an entire forum dedicated to gaming, and everyone in here thats complaining is supposed to be a "gamer" yet yall would rather spend your time in here complaining that we have a gaming forum now than improving your own forum with actual gaming discussion

Here's how it really went down, instead of conspiracy theories.

Brooklynzson and I make decisions for the board between ourselves, sometimes we make decisions that aren't popular but we do what we think is best for the board. We certainly take into consideration what people think at the moment but that's not going to be the deciding factor, which was why it was communicated clearly that the vote wasn't official and wasn't going to decide anything. We had discussed splitting the arcadium in the past but Brooklynzson was against it. I was more open to the idea but he has final say on things as he's the owner. When that thread showed up, I had no intention of even mentioning the idea because I knew where he stood but he asked me about it anyways. I laid out a few reasons why I thought it would work and apparently he agreed because he said let's try it out then. At that point, the poll was closed because a decision had been made. Shortly after, we opened the new forum.

Now if you don't believe that then that's on you. There's nothing I could say that will convince you otherwise, which is a shame but oh well, I'm not losing sleep over it.
