Lulz!

Wait til y'all hit ur 40s.

You'll have to play second fiddle to players you know you could bust when you were younger.

The mind is still sharp the body just says no more often than not.

When I was in my teens I swore I would never want to play ball beyond 30. Now I'm in my 40s after a serious foot and elbow injury just still enjoying everything about bball.

Man fukk basketball. I've said it multiple times but think I mean it this time. I'm 39. Played in two leagues right before covid hit. That was my first time playing in about 3 years due to a fracture in the ankle and then a surgery a year later to clean up bone spurs. I couldn't shoot for shyt in the first season plus played on a team with a bunch of selfish fukks that just kept jacking threes despite them shooting like 20%. No off ball movement, no picks. Half the team wouldn't even cross halfcourt when it came time to play D. I was still solid on D and passing though. Second league I came out killing. Much better team, I was hitting 3 three pointers a game, a block or two a game and mad steals. Then Covid hit.

Didn't play for a year. Joined a league again finally so we met to play some pickup ball to get to know each other. In one session took a shoulder to the jaw that caused a loud cracking sound, could barely open my mouth after. Hyper extended my knee trying to drive to the basket after getting hit in the air. With the way I landed I fell knee first with the other knee to the ground causing it to bust open and start leaking. Should've stopped playing then but figured I'd finish out the game. fukked around and rolled each ankle on back to back plays. This was all like two weeks before going to Jamaica too. So I was just going to say fukk it and not play no more.

Came back from Jamaica and played. Half our team didn't show so I had to play the whole 40 minute game even though I hadn't played in a month. Going up for a rebound and collided with somebody in mid air and went down flat on my back which somehow caused my knee to start hurting. Then rolled my ankle again. Now sitting here barely able to walk lol. This for sure my last season playing.
You'll be back nikka.

Most of them kids was just trying to shoot 3s out there so it was food for me. Very few had a consistent shot, no one gave a fukk about post play, including guys my height and even then they were tall but lanky as fukk.

Few dared to drive in and when they did they got their shyt sent back. So mostly easy rebounds, outlet and buckets on the break.I remember one game against this frail ass 6'6 Asian kid that I easily had 60 lbs on, not my proudest moment hoeing someone, but shyt was a massacre :banderas:.

Best games were always with the older heads. Slow it down, beat the youngins methodically. Used to clown when teachers would play with us, now I'm out here playing with Adjunct Professors that got a mean midrange game.

The circle of life. :blessed:

Goddamn I feel old right now.:mjcry:
That Zach Randolph game.

I’m hesitant when the young high school dudes asked me to join their games. Most times when I hit up the park I am just trying to work on my shot and my handle. I’m not trying to go hard as fukk playing against these young motherfukkers.

I’ve been going to the park almost every day for the past two weeks and with this heat wave in Portland it’s about 99° at 9 PM. I went to the park last night and stayed for about 30 minutes and the jumper was wet as fukk. The young high school kids up there would lowkey stop and watch me shoot when they kept hearing me hit nothing but net.

i’m waiting for a 30 and up league to come around so I can hoop again. I was in two leagues in Santa Monica and orange county before Covid hit. We won the chip twice in Orange County.

I've been playing here and there but the other day I went to play 3s and had the best game of my life. Hitting threes, jumpers off picks. I crossed the life out this dude and hit a jumper in the final points

I was gonna stop playing ball cause I wasnt playing as well as I wanted and don't have the time to practice right now (i still got pride, fukk you mean) but after that game brehs....I had to go to Target and get a BBall.

Last night I was open for a deep two, of course I'm pullin :rudy:

But out of nowhere this dude closes out and goes straight at my legs. All I could see out my peripheral was him under me. My shyt went from Ray Allen to Shawn Marion form. I landed awkward to not land on him - didn't get hurt, thankfully but being on the court is a business decision - I ain't going hard fr no mo. This my 3rd week back hooping after a year off due to covid and my homeboy just ruptured his Achilles last week

Aye brehs y’all exaggerating about that once you hit 30 shyt right? :lupe:
Say bro - I be working out and got in better shape physically than I probably have been my whole life lol. My 3rd game I experienced my whole body being sore. I ain't never had no shyt like that happen. Usually a nikka get stiff in the car on the ride home but nah - it happened while I was on the court. nikka started moving like Air Gordon, I had to call it quits lol. We play 11 minute games or the first team to 11 :sadcam:
