My first 3 years were fukking awesome bad chicks galore plus i pledged which made it even worse so I barely slept. It was work, school, party, and fukking.
Then you realize how much you're really paying and the baddest ones are either graduating and in a million organizations and they want someone just as ambitious.

That last year something had to give I had to get on down. Graduated with honors.

FAMU Alum and some of the best years of my life. Being 18 around other young, energetic black kids like me was a once in a lifetime experience. Made friends for life. Met brothers from FL, Texas, Cali, Chicago, NY, DC. So many different types of attractive and smart black women...Carribbeans, Africans, AA, short tall light brown dark. The parties, homecoming aww man so many stories and it's good seeing my fellow black brothers and sisters mature from teenagers to adults which we all did.

Plus the most important thing I got my degree. I fukked hoes but I always had my academic shyt on point I knew how to balance it couldn't go out EVERYNIGHT but the sacrifice was worth it I'm making 6 figures and I love my career. And the funny thing my major was 40% non black but it's funny you still have blacks that look at HBCUS as inferior but my schools program speaks for itself that even non blacks realized that.

I went to high school with majority whites so going to an HBCU was an amazing experience for me.

I went back to school late, just turned 28 in Dec. About to finish up with CC, already got accepted to 3 CSUs and waiting to hear back from the UCs. Got a decent GPA(PTK member), I wouldnt have had it if I went straight out of HS. Go for it man, you will be where I am in two years if you start now, and trust me its not close to too late.

I was going to apply to a couple HBCUs, but that shyt is expensive, SDSU with in state tuition is only like $6k and UC Berkeley is only $13k

san diego state is only six grand instate?

But the women are smart and sassy too. Loved to just hang out on the yard. Me and my crew would debate against the ladies on varied subjects. Great times

Truth is HBCUS are some garbage education wise - outside the elite private ones. Financial aid garbage, lose your documents, lazy professors, rude ass teachers, gun violence for no reason.

Yeah it was fun but at the end if the day it was not competitive. I transferred to a PWI, and got my shyt together.

Even in the work place within the DMV it's A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BLACK PEOPLE THAT GRADUATED from PWI and HBCUS career wise, speaking abilities, writing abilities.

But real talk at HBCUs, life is what you make it. I only played around for my freshman year in the first semester before I realized it was serious. I straightened up my act and got on them books. Link up with a upperclassmen to help you with your path to fulfill your graduation requirements for your major. Counselors be on that bs some times. Party and have fun but be studious. You can get swallowed out there living the life

I specifically spoke on the standards of education at black schools. MAJORITY of nikkas I started freshman year with dropped out or transferred to PWIS. I'm from PG county, there's no white people where I live and I don't have white friends u lame

Lolhahahaha an economics degree from UMD is more valuable than an engineering degree from any HBCU in the DMV including Howard.

Not sure about this. There's no question UMD is a better school. But Engineering is a very lucrative field. A little bit of a stretch here.

I know what you mean breh, I'm from NYC no HBCU's and its looked down on here. So I feel you; but have you seen some of these other universities prices??. That's what I meant. But if you in Cali that UC system is probably a bargain so I can't hate.
