with that said, still havent seen shyt that says next great coach to me though....think if he goes to a power 5 conf, he'll win 9 games and get to a bowl game year in/out, but wont actually win shyt (conf and nat titles)....maybe he'll prove me wrong, but i dont see it right now...

So basically LSU has been trying to land Herman since they fired Les. Next, Texas fires Strong, then sends out feelers to Herman. Herman was about to commit to LSU and LSU thought they had their man before the Texas offer came in. Herman's agent has probably told LSU that Herman is "weighing options." Now, Texas people are disavowing any claims that Strong was fired, when he was clearly fired after the L to Kansas(Insiders leaked it to ESPN.... THEY ARE RARELY WRONG ON THEIR COLLEGE FOOTBALL INFO) because they don't want egg on their face and coachless if they don't land their guy and LSU is salty because Texas might poach their next HC, so they disavow any claims that they talked to Herman's agent or made any offers.

They were drumming up stories about canning Strong after 2 losses this season. I agree he should be fired now, but let's not act like he wasn't persecuted from beginning to end.

Greg Ward was a 2-3 star recruit. If Herman can take a 5 star and make him 3/4 the development of Ward, LSU will dominate everyone in the SEC other than Bama. If Herman can maximize a 5 stars potential, LSU has title hopes
