Kanye is a talented musician who thinks he dresses well, that doesn't make him a great designer! Kanye needs to sit down somewhere! There are people who eat, breathe and sleep clothes design like he did/does music and that's why they are where they are!

Also Steve Jobs, Disney and David Stern weren't artists and entertainers.. They were more singular in their vision...They didnt have to step away from their business ventures to go tour 50 cities or record albums.. Ye's ambition seems to be larger than theirs an honestly there just isn't enough hours in the day to be GREAT at everything.. He's eventually gonna have to make some decisions about whats most important to him and focus..I see him eventually walking away from hip hop or music all together.. His plan to be the next Ralf/Walt Disney won't work with him making classic albums..Atleast not without completly depending on ghost writers and ghost producers... It's just not logical...
*edit.. Disney was a writer and animator so he was technically an artist.. But not a performer...

There is no way he fully walks away from music because that is truly what hes great at. Just like eventually Jordan put the 4-5 back on. Kanye may want to play designer but eventually when he doesn't get to the majors, he'll go back to what he is great in.
A girl I know went to his concert here in Philly a few weeks back. Said it was the worst concert she's ever attended. For one she didn't appreciate his whole "I am god" steez with angels around him, etc. But also that he'd go on 10 minute rants in between each song, saying shyt like, "when you tell people you're being yourself, you got that from me. Kanye taught y'all how to be yourselves"

What (I feel) Kanye should be doing is using his self proclaimed genius to make clothes that will appeal to nikkas that shop in places like USA Boutique, DTLR, etc. If he's as good as he says at designing he will be able to make clothes that these nikkas will cop consistently and build a solid cash base with which he can use to make that high end shyt he's obviously trying to make.
Wayne's trukfit has become a brand that nikkas is cool with wearing, T.I. Hustle Gang stuff is cool to rock, etc.
I cant say for sure, but id bet that them 2 nikkas (T.I. specifically) havent invested 13 mil into their ventures yet their clothing is more well branded and generating more money then whatever Kanye is producing.

Yea, he has to really think, how did you get to be kanye west? It wasnt by someone throwing millions of dollars at marketing you for no reason, friend. Alot of work went into making you who you are to be able to blast off, so in that regard the same would apply to fashion. Any art requires alot of dedication, more than 3 years, friend. Start boutiques, expand, sell to resllers, cake. Hes let his few accomplishments go to his head.his problem is hes trying to go from 1-1000 in one shot. He wants to be aligned with the likes of Fendi, LV, and Versace and because he makes music he thinks he deserves a sub-brand with them

Alot of famous brands have basically started out as Boutiques and then were merged into the conglomerate of the likes of Louis Vitton which is actually a merger of a few companies that include Moet and Hennessey. So i guess In Kanyes vision he wants one of those companies to finance his art so he doesnt have to pour his own money into his vision.

The players have been established and Kanye doesnt have the connections to get the materials he needs at a cheap price because of his celebrity and because of the fact that black people do not own manufacturers to get hookups so in a lot of ways, he does have to beg his way into the fashion game.
