Told you for years this piece of shyt is nothing more than a hustler opportunist. Becoming a Trump supporter was the logical continuation. There is no money in being a pro black woke bro, long term. He's using his influence to pressure, yes we know Trump ain't nothing but I don't think he said anything that bad, it's just angry liberals who hate Tariq will crap on his every word. Dudes been a scammer and low key agent with his white mother in law and his black people should not vote rhetoric. I seen this fraud coming a mile away. He would rather see blacks suffer and get money of it than black people actually progressing.
As Tone pointed out, Trump has already funneled enormous amounts of government money to his wealthy White supporters (money that might otherwise have gone to programs that would help a lot of Black people) while doing everything possible to eviscerate civil rights programs.
Let's say that Trump promises $200 billion in reparations in exchange for some Black voters, $5000 a pop. Of course, they'll then claim that anyone who gets reparations is no longer eligible for food stamps/welfare/medicaid/section 8/etc. so they'll make a lot of it back right away, and then they'll tax it on top of that, so the net gain might only be half or less of what he claimed it would be. Then when winning a 2nd term he again funnels trillions of dollars away from programs that help Black people, finishes his effort to end Affirmative Action, finishes off the end of the Voting Rights Act, puts in Supreme Court Justices that will continue to allow gerrymandering of the Black vote in every southern and midwestern state, continue allowing every police department to commit racial profiling and racist abuse without repercussions, guts health care, guts education, and guts the environmental laws that keep most poor black communities from having their air and water poisoned by polluters.
THAT is a deal with the devil. It's taking temporary money in the short term to lose even more money in the long term AND your rights on top of that.
I'm not sure how you figure Antonio and Yvette have not been laser focused on doing that this whole project. Again I get what Tariq is saying but you're not going to gain much traction using Donald Trump as your example of a politician addressing issues specifically for the black community. I mean in what world would anyone believe a President embroiled in controversy after controversy, in the middle of an impeachment inquiry is not using this as a publicity stunt similar to all of his rallies. To reiterate you can critique the benign neglect the Democratic party has practiced with black people without using Donald Trump as your counter.

Since when is Tariq in that category? Tariq is an extremist faux militant woke bro who appeals directly to people who are broke and don't buy things at a meaningful level - a certain subset of black men, specifically. Some of them will chip in for a $10 DVD here or there but that's about all you get.
The type of black talking heads on MSNBC are largely involved in another hustle - pimping blackness for white or corporate consumption. That's not really a lucrative lane either, outside of a few guys who play their cards right and get in the right places (see: Van Jones)....but it's certainly a better game to be in than Tariq's game. Which is why he had to diversify. Anti-immigration sentiments are already there, anti-LGBTQ sentiments are already there, sexist sentiments are already there...so the seeds for becoming alt right-curious were already there...and supporting Trump wasn't far off from there. There's money to be made. We already know there's a concerted effort to divide the black community and vote...and there are plenty of people more than willing to be paid to assist in that mission. Like Tariq.
