Cavs, Sixers and heats were also in a weaker conference. Plus it’s been time to dead the Ingles is a sub teacher joke he’s a player out here and a top 5 shooter in the league. Mitchell is talented while playing on a vastly more talented team than what Kobe had in his early solo years.
Now, if you paid attention in the 05-07 years Kobe had the misfortune of not only having weaker teams, but also drew the worst possible matchup for his team two years in a row which so happened to be among the title contenders. You also seriously discount how the team was neither experienced enough or with enough of the right players to implement the Triangle which forced the offense into more Kobe iso which was easier for the sons to defend. And with all the talk about Kobe needing a big why is it ignored that Kwame Brown was not a starting center breh, you give Kobe say, Big Z for example, and he advances past the sons in 06.
There’s always this weird idea that only a top tier big could help Kobe when in fact all that was needed was competent play from that spot. In the years where Kwame was fumbling passes from Kobe and being offensively challenged even a decent big might’ve been enough to squeak the team past those sons in 06. They were just a rebound away from advancing in 6 don’t forget that.
The fact that Kobe didn’t start out like Magic, but rather worked hard, earned his place, and laid it all on the line for five titles makes him just as much the level of player in Lakers history that Magic was. You have no grounds to dispute that other than tired rehashed arguments from 10-15 years ago. In Lakers history, you could say Magic or Kobe and no Laker fan would disagree. Your assertion that he isn’t even on THAT level shows that you never were a Laker fan in life, you aren’t one now, and you have no business talking about the team. Ima leave it at that.![]()
LeBron took a bum squad through the Pistons and the Celtics man, stop it.
