Made lima beans with hamhocks the other night and used fresh thyme, taragon and parsley. Had even the cacs at my dinner affair begging for leftovers.
Awesome… that’s not the norm though and there’s nothing wrong with it.

If I’m making braised short ribs or a quality steak I use fresh ingredients too.

If I’m making a quick spaghetti meal and I need to season the beef, I’m probably just using seasoned salt. I might toss in some fresh onions if I feel like it, but maybe not.

Everybody always trying to outdo somebody.
nikka, just cook your food so it tastes good. Don’t nobody give a damn that you grow your own tarragon, lol.

I remember I slept at a friend's house, his girl makes us grits in the morning and it wasn't no damn salt in the whole house. Luckily there was butter...and Tony's, or so I thought.

I dashed the Tony's in my grits, said grace and then went in. I have never been more angry in my life than I was while forcing myself to eat those grits because I was hungry and there was nothing else to eat.

i don't think i'd use either of them as a true all purpose seasoning for cooking with. lawry's is only good alone to add as a top off season for minor dishes (like on veggies or fries) but if i'm cooking something serious i'm still going to add other stuff to both lawry's and tony
especially if you get the low sodium... still gotta add salt, black pepper, cayanne cuz none of the bytches got heat to em, garlic powder cuz im od on that, paprika for more color, etc.
