Brendas got a baby, Surviving the Times, I Used To Love Her, All I Got Is You, Slippin, Ms Fat Booty, don’t have violence.
I think a baby being thrown in the trash and a hooker being murdered count as violence

surviving the times lol shyt is mid af and it’s just a summary of his career I guess

i used to love her classic

slippin is no story telling track and it has violence

These new yorker man. Someone called in (or it may have envy) that breakfast radio saying “Juicy” was a great example of big story telling. juicy is not even a story telling track. Big don’t have that many recorded songs and new yorkers want to crown him goat story teller. Insane.
  • “Warning”
  • “I Got a Story to Tell”
  • “Ni**as Bleed”
  • “Suicidal Thoughts”
  • “Gimme the Loot”
  • “Somebody’s Gotta Die”
Those are all TOP TIER storytelling tracks.

BIG is the GOAT

If anything the guy who rivals BIG the most besides Nas/Slick Rick is probably Ghostface Killah if we’re being completely honest. Ice Cube is top 5 though.

:what: nikka in what world is Slippin not a storytelling track? He’s literally telling the story of his life. Brenda’s Got A Baby is a true story. U actually changed the scope of the argument. U tried to act like most of hip hop storytelling is some generic hood shyt. And it’s not true.

So is December 4th a storytelling song?

Is started from the bottom a storytelling song?

Nas did a whole storytelling song backwards.

Backwards.

Truly innovative, "never-been-done-before" type shyt.

I think Big’s story telling was more imaginative and descriptive. Cube’s storytelling was more substantive.

Example:
Warning, Somebody Gotta Die, nikkas bleed are some of the most detailed, compelling and descriptive hip-hop stories ever.

Alive on arrival, Young Man’s summer vacation and Ghetto Bird have a larger purpose outside of just telling entertaining and compelling stories. They served to communicate socio-political messages.

As far as storytelling, you can’t go wrong with Big, Cube or Nas.

This here.

Nobody did it like B.I.G. Only person I can honestly say did it at that level, but with high-level lyricism with detail and cinematic value, was G Rap. But Cube is easily in that Top 3-5 too. If we're talking painting pictures with stories, very few could do it like G Rap and B.I.G. And you can throw Nas in there too.

Cube has 6 better records than the ones you just listed. The confuse biggies lyrical skills with being a “great storyteller”

It’s funny that this is even a controversial take.

Big was lightyears ahead of Cube in every category of rapping

Most of Cube’s shyt sounds dated as fukk and baret anyone outside Cali even listens to it
