ATL, but rasied in DMV
The houses are massive and it doesn’t have as much low income housing bringing it down
When I asked how did it get on the map, I guess I was still comparing it back to 2006. But I guess over the years, more and more people began to hear about the massive houses you can get in Henry for the money, although you can't get the same deal for a new home that you could have gotten in 2006.

The only draw back is, it's a mile or two too far from the city, which makes a longer commute. But it's good for retirees, as long as you don't move to the south part of the county, like Locust Grove. But now that's city has slightly more Blacks than Whites. But those Blacks be on another planet. I don't know if it's self hate, or the "Head Negro in Charge Syndrome" :yeshrug:

That’s household income too. It doesn’t take much to be a top earning household, black people need to just start getting married and having traditional nuclear families. I make above the median household income by myself, throw in a wife that makes at least 60k and you’re doing better than top earning white and Asian households.

Don't even got to be married, just stay together, especially when you have kids. What hurts us the most is single parent homes. And coparenting don't mean squat because you paying 2 rents.

Just think, if you paying $1800 for rent and a woman moves in to pay half, that's $900 freed up. If she splits the food, that's another $300. You went from a couple funky dollars leftover to $1200 and the same goes for her.

No disrepsect but those household numbers are not good. Thats like two people who work FT at wallmart numbers.

Even at 2 ppl who make min wage in nyc ($15) are about at 54k.

Hopefully it balloons but it seems we, who make good to great money, arent living around each other.

Alot of these black folks i bet are employed by the US government one way or other either contracting or directly, the government jobs is a great way for black people to move up to the middle class and get some financial legroom, another reason why GOP hates the government, they see the workers and bureacrats as mostly blacks or minorities so they dont care if it shutsdown, it isnt their voters that will be burdensome

That is 100% true in PG and Charles. May even be true for Hampton (military). But ATL has a lot of private sector employees and the federal gov jobs are there but not overwhelming. Many may work for local or state government though.

Most households for Black folks are single households I am guessing. So a lot of that number is disproportionately one income. So one income at $50k in the South isn't as bad as two at $25k.

Yea bruh none of these numbers are a lot of money except the top 2 but then again you live there so are top 2 good numbers?

Hell nah. 100k is around 2600$ bi weekly after taxes. That's wayyyy below average rents and mortgages in DC. My one bedroom in Southeast was 2450$.

no you're not lol. Unless you're supporting a family or living above your means, 100k in PG or Charles is perfectly fine. If you're married and the other person makes at least $30k that's a 130k household, which is perfectly manageable.

:what: nikkas just be talking

I moved back to DC last spring making 105k. Where u get your knowledge ??

I lived in PG and VA too

You absolutely like off a 100k household salary in the DMV. Lots of people here do it.

Left McDonough in 05 to live to Chattanooga. Came back to GA in 2010 but we moved to Fayette County. Rented our McDonough house when until. we sold it in 2020.

But yeah you got a lot of house for the money in Henry County. But my wife hated the traffic there (before they widened I75). shyts it's Still congested today

But when we came back she didn't wanna go back to McDonough. We came up on a great foreclosure in Tyrone in 2010.

Debt!!

I said 100k isn't a lot. A decent home and car payment, that's around 70 % of your income.
