Elzhi needs to be in on this

its so many that are great...but I guess we need to stick to topic and only go with those who would be in your top 20.

@the cac mamba if you say Ja Rule wasnt great technically then

hate for Ja on this site is at fakkitry levels. his singles catalogue did not consist of timeless joints and it overshadowed his album cuts that conveyed emotion and conflict where his best work was found...but technically he was a solid as it gets.

6: AZ
7; Bizzy Bone
8: KRS-One

Well then maybe we need to break down what elements make a rapper great technically. As far as Ja...what was it that he lacked technically? His flow? His cadence? His rhythm? His timing? See you just cant be out here talkin just to be talkin...break it down for a nikka. He's not top 20 because there were so many technical greats...but we need to define technical in more depth from the names I am seeing mentioned in this thread.

I thought of Grand Puba, was gonna add him to the in contention. Treach I mentioned as in contention. Rule was good, not sure he'd crack a top 20 though. I disagree about Mega, I think Mega is fantastic technically.

if you listen to Mega without a beat then yes, he would sound technically proficient. he cant ride a beat though. he is like a less lyrical version of AZ with a less smooth flow and off-timing.
