the last time i saw new developments in hayward off mission blvd it was directly aimed toward low income families but you out of town fakkits are gona tell me about the area i live in right :mjpls:
oh wait you already knew about that and i'm wrong it was being sold to developers who get bussed to and from work in cupertino.
right? :heh:

Stop it man.

Land is scarce. Few skyscrapers are built because of the NIMBY crowd. You also can't build as many skyscrapers because of earthquakes and the soft spongy soil in SF whereas New York's soil is solid bedrock. This limits the amount of commercial and residential housing in the city. So it spreads out into the neighboring suburbs. Which raises the rents of anything within a tolerable commute to SF or SV. You have millions of people working in the tech industries there in SF, SJ and SV all making six figures. These guys raise the prices for the available valuable housing. Alot of those guys settle there long term, purchasing homes. You have hundreds of companies going public, growing into massive corporate entities, providing a tax base for those cities. The area becomes more affluent, enticing more people to move there for the schools/jobs/amenities, raising the property values further, which raises the property taxes. Landowners can't afford to keep paying the taxes on a building when the rent is $1,200. So they raise the rents to $2,500-$3,500 and all you broke nikkas are out :heh: They move in rich white millennials. Some who are tech workers, some who are young rich and white and want to experience urban life in a safe bubble (away from poor blacks). Or a company offers to buy the land/building from him and build luxury lofts/condos. Process repeats and reverberates throughout the entire area, all in towns that are within a 20-30 mile commute. ALL OF THIS IS FUELED BY THE TECH INDUSTRY :heh:

I'm 25 and I lived in high point for 12 years now. Graduated from West Seattle HS and South Seattle CC. I'm sad I'm leaving though. My fiance and me are looking for places to rent and High point would be a bad commute for him since he works in the Eastside. I'm a teacher and I can literally get work anywhere since I'm multilingual. I'll be damned if I teach in the Eastside though. I didn't go into teaching for White kids.

I live on the Eastside. Did you get into teaching for the Asian and Indian kids? There are plenty of them over here. That Microsoft money has them buying up every house in my neighborhood.

Oh I know. My fiance lives in Redmond and there's so many Indians and Asians. My Asian best friend also lives in Redmond. I know that the Eastside schools are more diverse than people think. My Asian homie teaches at a Bellevue school where half of the students are English language learners. However, I really went into teaching for East African/Black kids. I taught at a really poor school in White Center last school year which was primarily East African, Black, Asian, and Hispanic. I absolutely loved it and I'm looking for schools with similar demographics.

BTW, I didn't mean any disrespect with the White kids comment.

I didn't think you meant anything bad by the white kids comment. I'm sure teaching a bunch of rich spoiled white (or any race) kids probably isn't that rewarding. I'm not sure what grade you teach, but Interlake High School in Bellevue seems to be pretty multicultural and lower income. If you can consider any part of Bellevue lower income?
