SLU... Mercer Mess... :scust:. I bought a house in West Seattle a year ago... I fukking LOVE it brehs. I'm living in High Point (apparently, this used to be the ghetto before it was gentrified). About a mile from California Ave, and not far from Admiral, Alki, etc...

It's the perfect spot for me... close enough to downtown if I wanna go, plus west seattle seems to be blowing up. Construction and new shyt going up everywhere. That new LA Fitness on Fauntleroy :blessed:.
Yo, what a small world. I also live in High Point. I live in the rentals though. I haven't seen that many Black folks in the non rentals:patrice:
I lived in High Point before it was rebuild and it was ghetto then. White people are still shook of high point. You should check the west seattle blog, bunch of people talking about how unsafe they feel around the 35th & Morgan. I would walk there at night without any problems, and I'm a woman.

:myman: I'm in those joints right off 35th and Morgan.

High Point is a great neighborhood though. 15 mins away from downtown. Highest point of Seattle so great views. It's really diverse too. My whole street is Somali, Ethiopian, and Asian. I live on high point dr. You live in them green and blue apartments across from the Korean corner store? You know how scared White West Seattle folks are scared of 35th & Morgan.

:salute:

It's funny, there's some cool ass people that come from the Bay Area.

But yea, anything related to Silicon Valley and Tech is just a glorified small town (Mountain View, Los Altos, all that shyt). It's a shame because the area is just gorgeous. And for a dude like me who loves speed and freedom, being close to the PCH is amazing.

that drive down highway 1 in the summer :wow:

His dumbass still doesn't get it.

Someone needs to explain to his ass how gentrification works. :mjlol:

yea u probably couldn't get any google results about any of the cities i mentioned you dumb rat that's why u aint talking out of your ass anymore
LOL @ explain gentrification, yea explain to me about the rampant gentrification going on in hayward and the mass displacement of all the hoodrats off industrial blvd :dead:
white people are the minority in that shyt hole, it's about 41% latino and 12% black

bbbbbbut it's the "tech transplants" that are making the rent in that turd 2200$ a month right? :mjlol:

Not familiar with Bay Area demographics, nor this argument, but gentrification usually pushes people into the surrounding areas as well.

DC white people now look at black folks like :beli:. Initially white people flooded Georgetown and North East, but as rent skyrocketed in those areas, they begin to venture into other parts of the city and surrounding areas. The effect can even be seen in Baltimore (Inner Harbor, Federal Hill, Canton).

Same with NYC. Not a lot of white folks affording that Lower Manhattan rent, so they venture out into the rest of the city. :yeshrug:

Again, not as familiar with San Fran, but from what I've heard, the same dynamic applies.

Cities are desirable places to live and now it's reverse white flight, because these downtown, centrally located spots are more desired than they were from 1950-1990.

this is true but theres over 100 cities in the bay area, and the city i mentioned in particular has a low white population and there is virtually no 'gentrification' to speak of in that dump.
one of the shyttiest cities in the bay area averaging 2200$ a month rent with below average schools, a wal mart and a decaying mall. that's what that city has to offer. even fremont has some redeemable qualities that can maybe justify the rent. Richmond is another shyt hole with an average rent the same as #30 on this list. they've been trying to gentrify that shyt but it aint working :mjpls:
