The Truth
is that bad? :lupe:

im paying 1250 for a 1 bedroom in the bronx :damn:

when i was looking at apartments in manhattan, 1 bedrooms were going for 1500+ plus broker's fees:damn:
I was paying 1250 for a condo in Honolulu and people were saying I lucked up... And I did

I'm really surprised Honolulu isn't at the top of the list. Gas is still around $4 over there. A gallon of milk was around $7

Waiting for that list on cost-to-value ratios.

San Francisco/San Jose -- Overrated. Autistic kids flooding the area due to tech. An absolute lack of identity and culture. Can't stress enough how overrated the people are. Not fun being around "smart" but socially unaware scrubs. :scust:

Washington DC/Baltimore -- Overrated. Drones flooding the area due to Government. Unless you link up with some educated black folks (and even then), you'll be disgusted by the lack of culture and perspective. There are some good people in the DMV area, but :francis:

Chicago -- :whew:, only messed with Downtown and Hyde Park.

Atlanta -- :whew::whew:

NYC -- :takedat:, but I've only messed with Manhattan.

Seattle -- Mixed thoughts, leaning toward overrated though. Again, a bunch of transplants with no culture or perspective. Dudes move to these areas and water down everything that made the place unique. :snoop:

Never been to Miami. :noah:

when I went to DC last summer, we stayed in arlington just over the river from DC. hotel was really nice, and so was the area. I liked it a lot out there. hell, I'd personally rather live there than in DC. especially given the difference in cost of living and it's proximity to the city.
Arlington rush hour commute to dc & northward is pure hell though that bridge aint no joke

Pretty much, but it's better than paying $1500 a month in rent.

:dahell: Is $1500 expensive now?

SF, Oakland and SJ are the premier cities in the bay area with actual nightlife and a host of entertainment options, what a shocker that their rents are high. u needed an article to tell u that though

:heh:

Dude acting like that entire area isn't completely devoid of culture. :skip:

Learn about the community in which you live and stop being willfully ignorant black man:

"The housing market conditions are completely out of control, with no real accountability to the people who are being displaced," said Robbie Clark of Causa Justa. "These stark rent increases, people being forced to move far away and commute longer - these are not signs of healthy communities."

http://sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Gentrification-transforming-face-of-Oakland-5387273.php

Keep thinking "entertainment" and "nightlife" are what is dictating rent hikes. :mjlol:

He's retarded :mjlol:

It's obviously the tech money driving up real estate prices. Developers aren't going to rent to poor people when they can market apartments to SV programmers for $3,000 a month

damn, it's that bogus to get over the bridge? also, don't they have good public transporation tho to get over from VA to DC?

It's not that bad at all.

Arlington and Alexandria are basically DC. Takes 20 mins to get the center of DC by the metro/subway. If you drive, of course, there's going to be morning traffic.

i'm done here. i live in SLU and its just obscene. I'm moving to either west seattle or greenlake or CD. its absolutely just horrific to live here now.

got damn!!...its expensive as fukk to live in SLU....plus the only market in that area is Whole Foods...if you're looking in West Seattle....try spots on California Ave....

SLU... Mercer Mess... :scust:. I bought a house in West Seattle a year ago... I fukking LOVE it brehs. I'm living in High Point (apparently, this used to be the ghetto before it was gentrified). About a mile from California Ave, and not far from Admiral, Alki, etc...

It's the perfect spot for me... close enough to downtown if I wanna go, plus west seattle seems to be blowing up. Construction and new shyt going up everywhere. That new LA Fitness on Fauntleroy :blessed:.

It is when the mortgage on my 3 bedroom 3.5 bathroom house is only $1700.

No doubt. I look at it like:

The 3 bedroom 2 bathroom joint I had in Arizona was $1200/mo...but it was in shytty Arizona. :yeshrug:

Rent is like $3600 (1800/roommate) for a loft overlooking the capital in downtown DC, but it's a completely different world.

Can usually find something in between the two that satisfies both conditions (decent rent but decent/great city).
