perfect list. shouldnt be any debates

i'm here to debate. its disrespectful to have isiah any lower than 2. he was the driving force on 2 title teams (shouda been 3 if not for that ankle injury in 88 and in 87 if not for the steal by Bird). he is the only man to beat Magic, Bird, and Jordan in their primes. that is AMAZING.

I don't know much about the Big O other than he averaged a triple double and won a ring with Kareem. IMO if he was as good as the old folks said, he shoulda won more than 1 title. especially being Kareem's teammate for a number of years.

I'm shocked to see so many people say Stockton. He's good but I always saw him as a guy who ate from the offensive system he was in, but I've only seen playoff games from him.

Come to the coli and pleasantly surprised not to see "DRose and Westbrook da gawds" on this list.

Magic
Isaiah
Stockton
Big O
Kidd

And we know the list is interchangeable, outside of Magic.

Kidd is better than Tony Parker?
Easily. Parker just played in a more enviable situation his whole career. No version of Tony Parker was taking those Nets teams to the Finals. No version of Tony Parker was making Mikki Moore look like a decent starting level center. No version of Tony Parker was getting Kenyon Martin and Richard Jefferson all of those points even though they didn't have an offensive skill between them.

Kidd is one of the five best defensive point guards ever. Outside of Magic Johnson I don't see an argument for anybody else EVER who had the court vision of Kidd... on BOTH sides of the ball, much less Tony Parker.

There's a reason Pop wanted to get rid of Parker in favor of Kidd, and there's a reason Pop was willing to move Parker to the two guard spot if he could sign Kidd, and there's a reason Pop wanted Parker to learn UNDER Kidd.

Kidd was effective until he was 40 just based off IQ alone. Nobody ever talks about it, but losing Kidd is one of the main reasons the Knicks went from #2 seed in the East to not even making the playoffs in probably a weaker East the next year.

Parker does have more rings and a finals MVP.

You can argue that Kidd never played with Ginobli or Duncan.

Look who Parker played with though. And nobody is ever going to argue that playing with Parker improved Duncan's game or improved Ginobili's game. Let's keep it 100, playing with Kidd made BUMS look like decent players (Mikki Moore, Macculloch) and made decent players look like All-Stars (Kenyon, Jefferson).

By the way, I edited my OG post.

The rings argument is ridiculous when you consider the teams they played with. It'd be different if the Spurs were BUILT around Parker; they are not. Is there any sane, unbiased person who believes the Spurs win LESS titles if Kidd is there that whole time than Parker?

-penny hardaway was on the verge of easily being top 4 or higher.
-pistol pete mightve been able to crack the top 5 as well.
-iverson didnt play enough PG for me.
-d.rose is gonna make it in brehs. just wait & see.

If Kidd signed with the spurs after the 03 season and Parker left, spurs not winning in 07,14

Now :camby:
