Ugly cute is (to me, at least) more about an energy or something a man gives off. You could notice it right away or after you get to know the person and their personality just makes them beautiful. It could be something as simple as his smile.
A famous example that swings to mind is shabba ranks (speaking just for me)
"Ugly" but at the same time incredibly good looking.

Everybody knows at least 1 ugly cute guy.
He keeps ladies attention cause something about him just shines.
