What instruments can you play

bass & drums

You're just reaching for straws because I said Katy Perry & Justin Bieber are real musicians & you said they weren't when in fact they are... :ld:

Justin Bieber can walk into a studio session right now... listen by ear & tell you exactly which key a KICK DRUM is in...

And I can tell you've never seen Karmin live outside of Youtube... :wow:

:damn: why would i want to do that

A lot of cats just put any drum in any one of their beats & keep it moving... when in fact the tone of the percussions are just as important as the acoustic instruments themselves...

There's a reason why Kanye wanted to work with Jeff Bhasker so much... because Jeff Bhasker is a great musician & taught Kanye a lot of theory outside of just "making beats"...

Music is amazing... there's producers out there like Brian Kidd who are brought into studio sessions STRICTLY for his drum programming... just as Scott Storch was a heavily used session musicians before he started producing on his own... it's a lot of theory that goes into every song that the average person isn't aware of...

Then how come youre not a multi platinum superstar :bryan:

exactly my point, just because i can play a couple of instruments doesn't mean i can put out songs and people will automatuically buy my shyt because i'm a "musician". there's been shytoads of no talent fukks that have sold a lot of records, talent has little to do with success (in the short term/pop charts) especially these days when it's easier than ever to hide the fact that you can't sing properly. there's a lot of things that contribute more to an artists success than JUST their talent.

man people do the same thing with computer software now
reason can take any sample and identify the root note from the pitch with just a couple clicks

it all comes down to the person's mind not the methods they use
just because you can play instruments doesn't mean you can make hot beats
or great music
look at the Funk Brother's in Motown, they didn't write any of those compositions
but they were the most skilled musicians ever in American history, and they're probably bums right now
The great players were never taking care off financial and their art as died with them
rappers have terrible musicians that play their songs back lives and seemingly do not do sound checks or properly rehearse their shyt to make sure it
sounds right live

Musicianship in general is down in all genres of American music which is why in all genres of american music today pales in comparison
of years pass

Man I wanted to get back into producing... but its like... the more I know, the less I know... and in any case nikkas give beats away nowadays

Dudes out here "leasing" beats 5 for $25 on Soundclick & shyt... the *REAL* money is in Songwriting... Make beats... write songs to them or find a talented writer & have them do it... sell SONGS... not beats... get signed... make $$$...

It's what Tricky Stewart & Dream did to blow themselves up... same thing with Future & Mike Will... Yung Chop & Keef... Alex Da Kid & Skylar Grey...

Of course they were getting work very sparingly separate but once these duo's teamed up with eachother they blew...

Hip Hop is straight. The second biggest album of the year is a Hip Hop album that's only been out a month and some change (Magna Carta). Country and Pop struggle just as much as Hip Hop (possibly more). Both genres have a handful of artists who do well, but overall, neither do as well as Hip Hop when it comes to cultivating new talent. Peep this article:

It's fairly rare nowadays for a country act to log a week as big as Bryan's potentially large start. Since 2008, only four country albums have sold more than 450,000 in a single week -- and three of them were by Taylor Swift (her last three studio releases). The fourth was by Lady Antebellum, when the trio's "Need You Now" album opened with 481,000 in early 2010.

You're still saying these people have no talent... Taylor Swift writes 90% of her own material & plays 3 different instruments... that's talent... no matter how you spin it... you may not like it... but they ARE musicians...

Alicia Keys sings, writes, plays piano, plays guitar, plays bass, choreographs & can engineer... that's talent whether you like her or not...

The difference between you and these so called "untalented" people are you don't know how to capitalize off of yours... how is that Justin Bieber's fault? :ld:

Biggavelli and Young Los :to:

You are right though... I can do it all... produce... write... create concepts... but I lack 2 things... the voice and the work ethic to work w/others consistently

But a lot of brehs in the game could use someone else to fill in the gaps... you look at any great artist outside of rap, they usually have a team... often they don't even write their own shyt. Good music is rarely rarely rarely rarely a 1 man show, but nowadays muhfuggas are too proud to work as a team. Thats why there are no more rap or R&B groups... nikkas wanna be the star and the CEO and the accountant

Pop & Country music is killing... that's because a lot of those artists are real musicians & have more to show for it in their performances then running back and forth on stage screaming into a microphone...

I think it's crazy that in 2013 three thousand people woke up last week & decided to buy "The Eminem Show"... so fukking random... :wow:

when Hip Hop was in its prime it was all sample based, and all those other genres were around doing their thang
rappers just suck now
