never watched not one episode, drake is nice and safe in montreal producing this glorificating garbage.
Doggy if you don't like it you don't like it but the shyt sure ain't garbage. If you have your allegiance to other shows that blind/prevent you from appreciating it then that's fine too.

Overall Very well written and it even has that character redemption type factor like Game of Thrones. Also the type of various separate storylines that eventually clash. Dope shyt.

Drake financed the 3rd season according to some but he didn't produce shyt.

i respect that daddy, but i live in an area where at 16 they clock off school and get to peddle bike pushing trying to emulate asher and kano and them but whatever if you think thats comparable to game of thrones flying dragons and shyt, i respect it.

+ side note. if noel clarke wrote some of it then thats why its well written. noel clarke is extremely dope.

Not comparable are all. I'm talking about the writers ability to redeem a character in the air without losing the audience.

Basically I'm talking about Sully's character and how he turned around kinda like Jamie from Game of Thrones but still without compromising the character in itself.

i respect it. wish noel clarke would do some type of comedy tv series like a house party kid n play joint or another running kidulthood.

even adam deacons "anuvahood" was pretty dope.

I've never seen The Wire but some say it's like a British version. But yeah the shyt is dope as fukk

the two don’t compare and you’re setting a potential viewer up for disappointment by comparing it to the wire...the one aspect they have in common that I’ll give you is the ability to flesh out “street” characters beyond the usual stereotypes that realistically makes it easier to sympathize or empathize w/ them depending on the viewer’s personal experience

Bruv, I'm not trying to compare it to The Tire. #1 because I've never seen the wire. #2 because I know how you cats are mad defensive about The Wire like it's some of y'alls Bible.
I don't want that smoke.:whoa:
When I compared it to The Wire I was talking more about what the show is about. The topic being the drug game.

Edit: as a matter of fact to avoid confusion and friction let me go ahead and edit my post before The Wire stans bury me in this thread

na it’s not that serious...I wasn’t even discussing in terms of which is “better” since that’s strictly subjective...but the wire is a multifaceted show that goes in depth re: the drug game from the ports to the streets...police from the streets to the higher ups...politics/law...the school system...news media (print—this part actually sucked tho imo lol)...top boy only covers the drug game primarily from the street level

in that respect it’s just simply not a fair comparison...they’re both enjoyable shows but one covers way more ground/topics...so someone going into top boy (no dame) expecting a show as layered as the wire as a result of the comparison may be disappointed

btw that wasn’t directly @ you since you said you’ve never seen the wire (you should) but @ anyone who would compare the two shows in general as you mentioned you’ve heard some folks do

That is cool. But I know just like you replied to my post if I did not edit the next cat that comes in will see that post and not see my reply to you and will get on me about the same thing. I've been around people who love the wire and them cats are vicious with their standom.

I thought top boy covered a lot to. There were a lot of things that I had no clue about drugs and drug game that I found out on that show. Basically how people and young kids get into it, how the rivals try to knock each other off and why, how having the supplier contact is important, and so on and so forth. I guess one day I will check out the wire and see for myself when I have time to binge watch it
