shawn micheal vs bret hart is up there

moreso cause of the fallout after the fight that went on for years

personally i think the "vince screwed brett" chants were some bullshyt. dude just got done letting vinve know he was leaving wwf, jumping ship to wcw for more money then had the nerve to expect vince to do him a favor by letting him win on his home turf. why the hell would someone do a favor for a guy that just fukked him over?

The Austin Vs. McMahon from 98-all the way to that Fully Loaded End of an Era match

Undertaker vs Steve Austin 'First Blood/End of an Era' Match Promo 7/25/99 - YouTube

I mean I know Vince really didn't leave..but man..the lead up to that shyt was epic in every way possible. That's when the creative team was in top form back then..good TV..

"Undertaker you want my blood, you son of a bytch I wanna piece of your ass! :pacspit:"-Austin

When he said that :gladbron:

And JR's quote too was epic "FIRST BLOOD MATCH! SOMEBODY GONNA BLEED! SOMEBODY GONNA LEAVE! :damn:"

GODDAMN they just don't make hyped promo videos for matches like this anymore:lawd:... then again they can't with with these soft ass wrestlers today that are on :trash: status... what the hell happened brehs?:to:

McMahon telling Flair to win or go home is arguably one of the best stories in the past decade. It led to HBK/Flair, which led to the HBK/Batista/Jericho feud that lasted nearly six months. In the long run it got Jericho a World Title run and set up Michaels becoming JBL's servant.

You can actually argue that it led to the first Undertaker vs HBK match which would branch out to the Undertaker vs HHH/HBK story.

5. Undertaker vs HBK and HHH
This is really one annual story, that has gone on for four years. It has produced two A+ matches, and two solid A's. The fact that its not about a belt, or a woman or anything makes a better. Its about being better, proving yourself, and doing the impossible. Makes for great watching, and the best display ever in the first taker/hbk entrances, the whole good vs evil thing. The discepline in the story theyve shown is definitely the product of these 3 not allowing it to get fukked up. IDK if they'll be able to top it going forward.

You could argue it lasted 6 years if you go back to the 07' Royal Rumble when Shawn and Taker were the last 2 and tore the house down. Then next year they go 1 & 2 and last over 30 minutes :banderas:

Bret vs HBK, a lot of it played out the way it did because real life beef forced everyone's hand. HBK's solo run started around a year after Bret's and for the most part was always just behind where Bret was. HBK finally caught up for and we got the iron man match at WM12. From there things got really interesting. You had HBK's "knee injury" coinciding with having to drop to the strap to Bret at WM13. The real life backstage fight, WWF always teasing the eventual rematch, the sly comments they would say here and there about each other like "Sunny Days". And it all eventually came to a head right when Bret was about to leave. The beef between the two was real and everyone knew Bret was leaving but knew he wouldn't drop the strap to HBK. Getting to that point was heavily influenced by real life circumstances but the payoff is arguably the most infamous moment in wrestling history.

Everywhere
The obvious ones are Megapowers, Vince & Austin, and Kane & Taker.

But HBK/Jericho feud was excellent from the promos to the matches. I don't really like either of those dudes but it was nearly perfect.

Trish vs Mickie was some great creepy stalker shyt.

Of course Savage/Roberts was amazing too.

And if we could just count the Pipe Bomb promo and stop at MITB 2011, Cena/Punk was incredible.

Austin vs Bret
Austin vs Rock

Honorable Mentions:
Savage vs Flair
Austin vs McMahon
Punk vs Hardy

Rock vs HHH
HBK vs Jericho

I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting

Rock's progression from heel to tweener to face(for a month) back to heel out of nowhere to face was also really well done. 1997-1999

Dude left the Nation, finally got the fans chanting "Rocky" only to join the Corporation shortly after....
