An Immigration History Filled With Nobel Prizes

Since the beginning of the 20th century and over the past 25 years, immigrants have demonstrated a remarkable capacity to excel in scientific fields.

“Immigrants have been awarded 40% of the Nobel Prizes won by Americans in chemistry, medicine and physics since 2000,” according to an analysis by the National Foundation for American Policy.

In 2023, four of the six U.S. recipients of Nobel Prizes in medicine, chemistry and physics immigrated to America

In 2021, three of the four U.S. recipients of Nobel Prizes in medicine, chemistry and physics were immigrants to the United States.

Between 1901 and 2025, immigrants have been awarded 36% of the Nobel Prizes won by Americans in chemistry, medicine and physics, according to NFAP’s research.

How do you simply fix this with a new democrat president? Why would scientists trust that, knowing the political climate can simply switch back again in 4 years? This doesn't end with Trump. We're going to deal with this type of deliberate government sabotage and anti-intelligence republicans for the rest of our lives. And the shift isn't that they distrust experts/scientists - that's been common since the 1980s/Reagan years. But until now we didn't see republicans outright destroying university research, shaking down universities for hundreds of billions of dollars, deporting foreign students for nothing, etc. Even if republicans get decimated in upcoming elections they aren't going to say "ok we won't do that again." They will keep doing this.

I feel the same way about government jobs. All the black people who got fired for no reason...would you go back to those types of jobs in 2029 if a new dem president takes over, knowing that you might get fired again if a republican takes over in 2033? How do you make any long term plans for yourself or your family if that's a legitimate concern/fear? You'd be compelled to move to the private sector work force. And that fear is the point. They want all this shyt to die. They want you stupid, in debt, using AI to "think," scrolling through short videos on your phone....and working physical labor jobs.

There will be a new generation of fools. Nothing needs to be fixed.

Similar to how The air traffic controllers today hadnt even graduated highschool when reagan screwed their predecessors over. There will also be indian, chinese, paki, and Nigerian academics turning 18 and dying to leave the repression or dysfunction of their home countries. There will always be a new batch of 22 year olds atracted to the shiny particle accelerater at MIT and willling to sign a 80hr per week grad student slave contract to use it.

I dont know if you've had much experience with , or personally engaged in research; but back during my grad school era there was this concept of the "decade of impact". It's the idea that the most groundbreaking research of an academic's career will typically happen during their first decade. This is true in some of the most profound academics such as Einstein or the economist John Nash. So academia has a concept of churning and burning through academics. You don't necessarily need to keep somebody for their entire life, you just need to be sapping those first decades from the next cycle of academics.

this push for anti-intellectualism is disgusting.
This isn't some new phenomenon. I've said it for yrs on here and irl but they've been attacking higher ed for yrs and labeling it "elite" or "liberal elite" or "left wing indoctrination," which is fukkin hilarious when you go and read their bio's/CVs and you see they not only went to these liberal elite left wing indoctrination factories for undergrad, but for their Master's, their JD's, their PhD's. If these institutions were as evil as they proclaim, why tf do they still send their kids there?

it's the reason why they don't want rural areas to have broadband access. Terrestrial radio as a medium is dying, except for AM radio in rural, desolate areas, and they rule that forum. Entire stations dedicated to spreading their fear and hate. I promise this ain't a blame Dems post, but their issue is akin to what the USSR and US militaries discovered fighting in Afghanistan. You can drop all the million-dollar artillery and bombs you want to, but what's gonna win this "war" is close-quarters styled combat, redux asymmetrical warfare. All the messaging in the world won't matter if you're not gonna put feet to pavement, sleeves rolled up, mobilized door to door cause the one thing that the right hates is to be confronted with is truth, especially when its staring right back at them.

I've said this on here too, for years the contingent on the right who went to Ivies and don't know anything different are telling the masses "Hey don't go to college, it ain't worth it." are sending their kids straight to those same Ivies. I just feel like the push is in overdrive for some reason (maybe I'm just more aware now as I'm a younger breh). They know the dumber people are it's easier to fall for their bullshyt. And I second the second paragraph as well, or else we're looking at Idiocracy.

Low key, one of the problems that The Left/Dems have is that the folks in charge/the folks with the money - don't give enough to the people with the ENERGY to go door to door.

They might put some kids on the social media campaign, but they're not letting them make more important decisions.

What if Kamala broke with Biden on Israel?
What if they kept with the "Republicans are Weird" mini moment?

Taking it back to Howard Dean, what if they would have kept his organization running instead of disbanding it...

The Left/Dems have all of these blind spots and make unforced errors.

The candidates wasn't trying to do podcasts.
They never really answer questions - it's always some forced way to mangle some political point into "pineapples on a pizza, yes or no"

I've said this before, the Ayn Rand foundation was giving 1,000 scholarships for The best Fountainhead Essays at my high school.

That's how you develop talent.

But naw.

The Left, Progressives, or maybe a Black People Party needs to step away and build OUR OWN ground game. I don't see a lot of folks of my political persuasion talking about this, much less organizing.
