If something built over 400 years can easily be dismantled in a year, then it wasnt as invincible as wed initially believed.

It never it was,

America only became a legitimate democracy 60 years ago.

still quite young and probably wont reach the century marker

One could also argue that, that sense of duty to democracy Americans had has now come to an end and most Americans want a Putinesque Soviet style regime.

@NobodyReally well i guess its a good thing i never said you had to be a genius to be in research.

"Just like i said about teachers, pay the good ones GENEROUSLY based on RESULTS. The rest can feel free to work for the general wage,or find more suitable work elsewhere. We wish them the best in their future endeavors"

There are simply geniuses and then there are "the rest". Im saying to invest in the geniuses and relevant research and cut the fat among the rest. Thats what i would do if I was president. Not to mention i would understand creating medicines for sicknesses you create isnt neccessarily that genius either. My govt would be more focused on effecient food supplies and logistics coordination. We would also focus on investing in agriculture as a govt so we wouldnt have to poison the food so much. Not to mention promoting sunlight and researching/teaching about melanin.

But enough about me. You all keep saying im wrong. Meanwhile the governent is telling you they need to import more chinese people in. Plus they are also cutting funding research in the colleges. This is a clear set up to take on Chinas models. Where the research is focused within government entities.

"Intramural here refers to research carried out within government institutions and laboratories by their own staff, rather than through grants or contracts to external performers. In 2023, the People’s Republic of China (PRC)’s government research expenditures were over one and a half times larger than those of the United States, underscoring Beijing’s willingness to deploy state resources at scale to accelerate scientific and technological breakthroughs. Unlike the United States—where R&D is more heavily concentrated in universities and the private sector—China channels a significant portion of research funding directly through government labs and mission-driven institutes.

This centralized model sometimes gives Beijing strategic advantages. First, it allows resources to be concentrated in priority domains—energy, space, biotechnology, and frontier technologies such as quantum computing—without the fragmentation and financial constraints often associated with purely private-sector incentives. This is particularly relevant for emerging technologies such as quantum computing and communications, where markets are underdeveloped and investments are largely state-driven."

Coming from you I'm absolutely not surprised unlike the others that you would come up with this anti-intellectual take. You keep proving yourself on this forum

Im sorry you feel that way,but theres nothing anti intellectual about effeciency:respect:

In the past 5 years Americas list of top scientist/researchers has fallen while Chinas rose. America fell from 35000 to 30000. Meanwhile Chinas has doubled from 15000 to 30000(approx). And since you love research so much,You will be happy to know that China is able to spend more money for more researchers per dollar. So like i said, invest in the "geniuses" and in educating our youth, promoting inventive mindsets. Stop spending so much money on bullshyt research(definitely space). And stop overpaying every tom dikk and harry just because they have a degree. Maybe you actually make college AFFORDABLE. I may be calling for lower wages. But to say im anti intellectual when your govt(Bothsides),has preventative measures(the promise of debt) to keep many people out of college is hilarious. Make affordable college and you wouldnt need to overpay Americans and drive up cost.

Hope i was able to provide clarity. I will continue to prove myself here on NuColi:respect:

Your country is telling you

Why pay a run of the mil American researcher 75-100K. When I can go get a young run of the mil, possibly better Chinese researcher whos making 25-50k per year:mjlol:

Its ironic how thecoli is so pro immigration when its just low paying jobs and poor communities at risk.

But as soon as America starts to think about cost saving and effeciency with those 6 figure,6 cert jobs,All hell breaks loose. Suddenly its anti intellectual. How about its pro profits and effeciency just like it was when they were bringing in latinos to replace low income earning black americans under the Democrats. Congrats, you all got hit with the good cop bad cop on bothsides:respect:.

Only 40% of the adult U.S population has a college degree.

Only ~22% of all college graduates majored in STEM.

That’s something like only ~8% of the adult U.S population straight carrying the population.

That includes all STEM disciplines split between a few million people: Math, Physics, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Material, Aerospace, etc.), Medicine (Doctors and Nurses), Computer Science (Software Engineers and A.I Researchers), etc. That 8% is spread thin already.

So yes, people leaving from a such a small number is concerning. Only 1% of total Bachelor’s Degrees are people who majored in Math for example. These people don’t grow on trees. You lose a few of them with PhD’s, especially an outright genius like Tao and it hurts the country big.

“Bullshyt” life changing research is what carries humanity. Without research say good bye to modern medicine and modern tech

Be honest with me. What were your math scores and science scores from K-12:unimpressed:
