And they're saying that those 4th graders are all probbaly dead.

This is typical for Oklahoma and the biggest drawback living here. I'm about an hour away from Moore and my city hasn't had a tornado touchdown in the city since the 80's, so although we haven't had a big a** tornado, we've had storms that produced tornado type wind. I pray I'm not here when that day comes.

Special prayer list for everyone in Moore...... from Lawton/Ft. Sill

:whew:

I swear tornadoes are the most frightening forces of nature to ever exist. :wow:

I'm going to have to disagree with you.... First, tornados, minus the occasional high grade twister, has the highest rate of survival because you can prepare for it and come out unharmed by taking refuge in a storm cellar(which should be mandatory on every home in Oklahoma). Also tornados are very random, in strength and in location. A lot of times, here in OK, a twister will only touchdown for a short moment before dying and they usually happen in open field.

There are always more death and destruction during earthquakes, hurricanes and the phenomena I never wanna be in.... A tsumani.

Nah, man.

They're actually all the same IMO. Just depends on where you live and the population.

A tornado passed right behind my house last year in Dallas, and when I was in Norman for college one came close but hit Moore instead.

They're unpredictable, can form easily at random, they can change directions on a dime and some, like this one stay on the ground for 10-15 mins. This tornado was 2 miles wide. I cant even fathom that.

At least in the case of hurricanes, they can prepare for 2-3 days in advance

Oklahoma City Tornado 2013: Storms Tear Across Central U.S. (LIVE UPDATES, PHOTOS, VIDEO) (LIVE NEWS COVERAGE FROM LOCAL AFFILIATE at upper part of page) ......... wow

I always think having a basement or shelter is the better than being in a structure aboveground in a twister..and it usually probably is.....but someone was telling me about that Alabama tornado that killed about 300 people or so in 2010 or 2011....and they were saying folks were in their basement and had to grab on to something to prevent from being drug out by the tornado....that shiit cray.......I don't even won't to imagine.................................................................................they say the reason the Central and Southern U.S. get tornadoes like no other place on earth is b/se the frigid Artic air meets the warm Gulf of Mexico air without any mountians to impede it and just goes H.A.M......no other place on earth gets tornadoes...I've never ever hear of twisters in other countries, much less rampaging......
