the 2025 jays offensively are a deep, explosive and relentless hitting team . They come at you in waves because their top, middle and bottom part of the batting lineup/order can hurt opposing pitchers/fielders with their bats equally. There are no bad hitters for opposing pitchers to get easy and quick outs against. Even guys like Gimenez, Clement, Lukes and IKF can be a threat at the plate and it’s tough for opposing pitchers to strike them out . And with the jays, no lead is safe. They’re a comeback team. They were the team with the most comeback wins in MLB this year. They led the league with 49 comeback wins
The jays hitters this year always find a way to get the ball in play, reach the bases/get on bases , don’t only rely on power hitting/homeruns, emphasize contact hitting, rarely swing at bad pitches during their at-bats and rarely strike out a lot because they are disciplined, patient, effective and smart hitters with good pitch judgment/anticipation/awareness that know how to work out the pitch count and wear down opposing pitchers/relievers.
We blue jays fans should be grateful for David Popkins, the blue jays hitting coach, who was the mastermind behind the blue jays offensive renaissance this year. The jays hitters listened to him and implemented his strategies and approach at the plate. It paid dividends big time
in hiring Popkins, the Blue Jays are also aiming to draw more from the talent already in place, by using his strengths in swing bio-mechanics — with the Minnesota Twins he developed a motion-capture process and reporting tool — game-planning and approach-building.

Their main weakness this year has been base stealing and baserunning. We have been too cautious and didn’t take a lot of risks on the base paths. The blue jays this year were the 3rd worst team at stealing bases(they were ranked #28 out of 30 teams) I suppose we need to add more speed in our lineup and make improvements in that department. We need more speed and our base runners need to play with more audacity, initiative, intelligence, and better situational awareness on the base paths next year.
The Detroit Tigers had the fewest stolen bases by a team in 2025, with 61 steals.
