Can someone with actual law knowledge explain why he did not take the stand, what are the pros and cons?
1. It’s pretty much standard for the accused not to take the stand unless their defense is “self-defense” (e.g. the Kenosha white boy). And unfortunately for Tory the judge was going to allow them to use his tattoos, rap lyrics and past incidents to characterize him

2. With how Kelsey testimony went and how confusing everything was his defense thought they were up. That’s why they didn’t wait to even have his driver testify. I thought the driver not testifying was worse than Tory not getting on the stand.

breh, if he came out and said he fukked up and will take accountability, it would have been an easier case for the DA and he would have been charged much earlier.

And rumours are the prosecution offered him a 1 year plea deal, which he rejected and took it to trial instead.
Kind of the point breh. If you've committed the offence and put the victim and the prosecution through a full trial, they're going to punish your ass more severely for it.

I get what you're saying about just admitting without speaking to a lawyer first. In fact reading your second paragraph, we're probably on the same page. The apology should have been directed through a lawyer with the angle at getting a reduced sentence.

On another note. I don't feel an ounce of sympathy for him and at I'm not putting any of the blame on people gassing him up. He was there that night. He knew what he did. Shouldn't matter what people were whispering in his ear. He knew that he shot her so he should have known that going on TV cutting up horse shoes and shyt was fukked up.

The headline literally says that he's "PROBABLY going through the worst days of his life..."

It's scary what passes for news these days. How is that a headline? Wow.
They want you to be happy thinking about how bad prison probably is for the old boy right now

You don't just get to tell your story and sit down. The prosecution gets to cross examine you and if you can't answer intelligently, you gonna look like a liar in front of the jury. They're gonna question you about the inconsistencies. And you are going to have to break it down moment by moment of what happened. "You apologized on the phone with Kelsey. Why"? Because you slept with both of them? Nah Mr. Lanez that doesn't make sense. Because see in your phone conversation, you apologized for doing something THAT NIGHT, after leaving the party. You said you did it because you were drunk, correct? Then you specified that it happened because you were given 5 shots when you arrived at the party. So this apology had to be something that you did that night, after the party. Not some time last week or last month or whenever you slept with both of them. And why would you be apologizing to Kelsey about sleeping with Kelsey anyway? Oh you don't remember your apology? Here let me play it again so we all can hear it...

It could get very uncomfortable for the defendant on the stand :francis:

Lawyer-ass-nikka. :russ:
Facts tho'. :wow:

Made no sense whatsoever for him not to testify. Everyone is saying you did it and you do not get on the stand to refute those claims? Whatever the prosecution was going to throw at him was not going to beat him telling his side.

Unless he did it

I mean regardless of whether you did or did not, once two people said you did it and a neutral party said they saw you fire the gun i would want to explain myself.

If you did it then you are now the 3rd person saying you did it lol

He thought there was enough reasonable doubt to win the case so he didn’t wanna take the stand and possibly get cooked by the prosecution.

I think after that apology call audio was played, the jury made its mind up. Either way he was all set

Once I saw I was facing 22 years and I'm a multimillionaire rapper with a buzzing career, I'm not waiting til trial to say I did not shoot her, fukk all that legal shyt...I'm giving my side of the story immediately if I did not commit the crime. Tory clearly said Kelsey didn't shoot Meg tho.
