I don't get why people who stan rappers hard as fukk are mad at other people for doing the same thing. They're just mad cause it's not the rappers they stan.

I don't know anybody who likes this album, :ohhh:, this has never happened before with a jay-z album..

i don't know if it's because of the quality of the album or because they simply have no fukking idea what he's talking about on half of the songs, :heh:. did he make this album for rap fans or his millionaire friends? ehh, either way i love the production, and his smugness on damn near every song, even tho lyrically it's a bit light in the ass

All the hiphop sites/magazines gave it good reviews (4 mics+) except 1 if I recall right :dahell:
A whole lot better response from the hiphop community than BP3 & KC (obviously people were expecting a classic comeback, while not as good as AG) and a whole lot worse commercial/cac response than BP3.

I feel that the people who usually fukks with Hov for songs like Show me what you got, ESOM, Run This Town etc don't like it. And Hipsters are not fukkin with it either.

ok.. on twitter she said she dissed him and then they got cool

They probably had some kinda fallout.

But Decoded, was originally supposed to be his autobiography called The Black Book. He was supposed to be speakin' about his years hustlin', and some chick he got pregnant, from that verse on "Soon You'll Understand", and mad personal shyt. He spoke on it back in like '01. They finished the joint, but then he didn't want to drop it anymore. So mad years later, they watered it down, and released Decoded.

I wanted that other book!

very strange, hmmmmmm. i'd hate to think that just because it's "JAY-Z" it gets an instant nod of approval from sources like that.
I think it's cause these people recognize that hiphop is not like rock.
It's not only about instrumental, subject of matter and concepts.

Rapreviews gave it 3/5 first and foremost (maybe that's shyt in your world) and my post clearly said EXCEPT 1.
The relevant ones I know are Rapreviews, XXL, Vibe, Hiphopdx, Allhiphop, Djbooth and Complex.
All of them gave the standard score of 4/5 or just great reviews in words, which indicates that it's a dope album but not WOW-dope.

After 1 day I was a bit on the same road as the hipster reviewers (even though their reviews were wack, all about samsung and money the boring 3/5 ratings was my initial rating), but after a few plays, grabbing all the metaphors, punchlines and what he's really talking about I agree with the hiphop sites.

Having an interest in fashion and being heavy into drug culture definitely aren't two things that I'd consider mutually exclusive, and esp for the hollywood types; the rhetorical device, and I forget the name, he adopts in delivering that line certainly implies an either/or instance...

Toure's past dikkriding aside (BP3 was great, to me) he's pretty spot on, for someone HOV's age you'd expect more discretion and wisdom behind the lyrics. MCHG is one of the year's best strictly off the production imo.

Heaven on Earth
this is like asking wayne bradys opinion of growing up in the hood

Wayne Brady is from the hood though...He was raised by his aunt and grandmother in the hood part of Orlanda...

When Bill Maher came at Jay-Z sideways he was stuttering, mumbling and looking down at his shoes...

Bill Maher came at Wayne Brady sideways and Wayne promptly offered to "smack the sh1t out of him"

These are all facts

what does that even mean. Oh wait I remember, she's a stan. Wonder what she thought about Life Is Good.

MCHG is wack lyrically. It's basically a bunch of producers saying "hey Hov try this beat, it's hard mode!" and Jay failing to catch the beat. Then they all act like shyt is dope. meh

Wack lyricially compared to what Jay albums

Cuz we could go track by track in comparisons and I can prove to u that lyrically this is one of Jay's better albums

Try me :demonic:
