They still do but they limited the amount of cocktail waitresses on the gaming floor.

Back then, a waitress was always around. Today, they got one working a bigger area which means you’re going to be waiting for almost 30 minutes for that free beer/shot but if you tip well, she will be back faster and more frequently.

This was to counter the cheap skates that stay on the penny slots playing only a cent just to get “free” drinks.
See....and that's EXACTLY why Vegas is losing customers. Their mindset is close every loophole, max out revenue and reduce costs. Problem is when it becomes super obvious, people start pulling away.

It's just like when companies sell orange juice. They charged you $4 for 52 oz back in 2022 but now charge $4 for 46 oz....and try to make the bottle look the same. Same shyt with potato chips. The smaller brands give you a full bag but the big boys like Doritos and em will give you a half empty bag and charge more than they did previously.

Capitalists always wanna find ways to cut costs but forget that people can just stop showing up.

the Vegas problem is the casino operators sold the properties to Private Equity firms who keep raising the rent and they can't pay it without these resort fees and finding out how to take more from the visitor. AND people are broke, gambling options are abundant and foreign visitors are in sharp decline? Vegas as we know it will go the way of Atlantic City.

Private equity is really what is going to kill America. They're basically parasites going from one company, destroying it and moving on to the next.

They really do ruin everything. No matter how well a business performs in a given year they always want even more the following year

One thing I'll say is that if you're a high level gambler, Vegas is a COMPLETELY different experience.

I'm seven stars at caesars and platinum at MGM.

I don't pay resort fees, I don't pay for parking at any Ceasars or MGM casinos.

Caesars gives me for free cocktails a day, I get a 5 day annual retreat, free rooms on command, a 7 day cruise, $150 bucks in free sports bets every month online and tie bonuses for all types of shyt. I was getting 1200 free airfare credits, free play on any cash advance fees.

MGM was giving me $600 free airfare credits, 4 free nights with $400 resort credits....all types of shyt all all their casinos.

I've bet millions with Caesars and MGM over the years.

I don't even wait in lines at MGM restaurants.
Has MGM limited you on their app? They did for me. Even threatening not to use their hotels anymore didnt work

Why the decline? Because private equity happened.

Private equity said fukk the budget-friendly Vegas vacation of the 80s, 90s, 2000s and early 2010s. They cut costs on everything while simultaneously making everything 10x more expensive.

When all the juice is sucked out of the fruit, the private equity parasite will move on to its next victim and Vegas will be a decaying carcass of what it once was, similar to what happened to Atlantic City.

So right before the Pandemic I left my job at Roc Nation and I was tired of the music industry and djing so I went all in on betting full time. It wasn't abnormal for me to come out to Vegas for a weekend and end up staying a couple of weeks. I just LOVED Vegas. Anyways back in 2022, I ended came out to Vegas to sign up for the Circa contest, went home for week and then came back out for Canelo/GGG III. I was literally supposed to stay for a week and ending up just living in the Cosmopolitan for 7 months.

I went on a gambling run of a lifetime. I was making so much money betting, I did not care about what I spent, nor did I plan for the future. I COULD NOT lose. When I say I couldn't lose, it was ridiculous. One day I hit MGM for like 50K in baseball straight bets, I have 57,500 in cash. I take 50K and put it in the hotel safe and go back downstairs to just get some drinks and have fun. I got 7,5000 in my pocket. I'm planning on drinking and tricking on jawns. I go into the sportsbook, the Giants are down 2 runs to the Rockies in the top of the 9th. I'm HAMMERED, I say, the Giants are going to win this game, give me the whole 7500 on the Giants. They tie it up in the top of the 9th, hold the Rockies scoreless in the bottom of the 9th, take the lead in the 10th and I leave with 41K after like 15 minutes. It was shyt like that happening.

I got banned from all MGM sportsbooks because I cracked them for too much. I hit them for 30K on the Pirates and and then had another 30K on the Browns against the Steelers on TNF the same night. The next day, I came downstairs to place a 3 team parlay in baseball for 10K to win like 40K and the manager told me the head trader sent an email about me and that I was banned. I went upstairs, grabbed an extra 7 thousand and then sprinted to Caesars to put 17K on a 2 team baseball parlay for the remaining teams and that won. The manager for the MGM sportsbook at the Cosmo told me I could go over the Mandalay Bay and speak to the head trader for MGM, some black dude with no mustache named Lamarr and this man told me I was too smart.

I started betting at Caesars and they'd move the number every single time I bet I beat them so bad. The day the Suns lost a preseason game to an Australian NBL team in preseason, I had 10K on the Australian NBL team. I had 30K on the Phillies to win Game 1 against the Astros in the World Series. One random Saturday in October of 2022, I hit Caesars for 117K one night betting baseball and college football. It was just insane. I went upstairs at the Cosmo and ordered steak, lobster, wings and all types of shyt and left a 1K tip to the waiter and then invited a bunch of hoes to my room and had a threesome in the tub.

The run I was on was so ridiculous that I literally just stayed there.

I would wake up eat breakfast, go to the gym, and then go downstairs in my pajamas and bet, then I'd go shopping, go to shows and eat at great restaurants everyday. I was renting whip and switching cars damn near every week at one point. I had rented a Porsche 911 for like 3 months and then at some point I just started renting a different whip every week.

Life for me was just so much better in Vegas than in Philly. I used to have to have to hire security to take me to casinos in Philly because of the crime. I had a white dude who I called CIA Mike who used did shyt with the US Government and worked on Swat teams and shyt. He'd pick me up from my crib in a bulletproof hummer and do my pick ups with me. In Vegas, I was in the casinos and didn't have to deal with that shyt. I would just get my cash in the morning, get paid in the bank and drive to the bank while it was dead out.

I probably should have had security in Vegas but at the time I felt way safer than I was in Philly. Philly got so ridiculous that there weren't even places open to get good food at night and I got tired of that. I loved the fact that I was on PST because I could watch sports and still go to a concert, hit Usher's residency and go to Carbone or some other good restaurant.

Anyways, Vegas has this law where you can't stay at a casino for more than 28 days in a row otherwise you get Squatters rights. I ended up staying at the Cosmo for 45 straight nights before they told me I had to get the fukk out for one night. By that point, I was shopping every week and had so many clothes that it was a real job to move my stuff out of my hotel room. I packed up, went to the Venetian for one night and then went back to the Cosmo.

I was there so long, I literally flew my mom out, was flying chicks out to come see me and was getting them their own rooms.

I probably could write a book about that time in my life.

That's when I decided to move to Vegas and as soon as I closed on a condo, my life went haywire. I had to get surgery, I came back home and then I didn't get to move to Vegas until January of this year.

you're a legend :salute:

I was limited in person and on the app.

There's nothing you can do but hope maybe after a couple of years the system forgets.
