See....and that's EXACTLY why Vegas is losing customers. Their mindset is close every loophole, max out revenue and reduce costs. Problem is when it becomes super obvious, people start pulling away.

It's just like when companies sell orange juice. They charged you $4 for 52 oz back in 2022 but now charge $4 for 46 oz....and try to make the bottle look the same. Same shyt with potato chips. The smaller brands give you a full bag but the big boys like Doritos and em will give you a half empty bag and charge more than they did previously.

Capitalists always wanna find ways to cut costs but forget that people can just stop showing up.
Compared Las Vegas to
Orange juice

Las Vegas is dead. I have never seen the parking garage at the airport this empty and I did not see another person until I made it to the TSA PreCheck line in the terminal.

Interesting. @grok much of Vegas revenue used to be international vs domestic spending or tourism?

6/37
@HeyUGuyz23
This dude is recording at what time? I was just there and it was busy. Is tourism down in Vegas… yes… but who wants to be in 110 degrees of dry heat. However, it isn’t like you showed during the times I was there between 1 in the afternoon and 6 pm.

You can make anything seem a certain way if you go at 2 am.

Bro its the dead of summer lol
now go to mom pool and show us how dead it is lol

@cheekycadaver
A couple of factors here: 1) low season in Vegas is during the hot summers, 2) morning flight.

But beyond that, yes tourism is down in Vegas a bit for this season, but not as sensational as OP makes it out to be.

9/37
@Chris_Deutsch
Summer is the least desirable time to be in Vegas but I’m no fan anyway

Why?

No people but still a line at TSA. One person on 'duty' to biometrically scan you for Palantir of course.

And give each migrant $1000 for restaurant meals and exercise the slot machines?

I was in Las Vegas last summer for my daughter’s volleyball tournament. It was in my view artificially crowded because the tournament reserved most of the rooms. My main takeaway: everything was too expensive, price gouging a captive audience. $15 for a slice of pizza? $10 for a soda?

Yes, it is, and I'm happy about it for selfish reasons. My sons turn 21 this year, and the more dead Vegas is, the looser the slots and cheaper accommodations are available. It also shows that global tourism is down, and so is Americans'; we are not traveling, and if we are, it's to another country, not Vegas. This is clearly a protest not to vacation in America as long as we have an entertainer in chief that shyts on everyone!

@Apheleia9
At the point where a $99 a night room exists....the end-price is $179 with fees/taxes included. It's cheaper to fly to Turkey/Greece/Spain and spend a week at some beach resort there.

11/37
@BourbonBitcoin
$8 for a bottle of water doesn't help their cause. Vegas is a shell of what it once was. I won't ever go back there again. Too many nicer places to gamble now if you are into that.

not only Vegas. I drove across 14 states in July and most places were empty.

I went there in February and it is so f*cking expensive! The hotel was cheap, but everything else was outrageous. A basic breakfast in the casino cafe was over $100 for 3 people. We're talking eggs and coffee here.

Maybe Vegas is over built? Did that ever occur to you? Prices have gone up so much.,
Less people can afford it.

35/37
@lowcopatriot
Crisis of greed and poor leadership. Maybe stop greasing everyone for every dime. I loved Vegas in the 90’s & early 00’s . Now it feels like a dangerous overpriced theme park.

36/37
@PabloCharlie83
I was there there for the 4th of July and it was the most packed I’ve seen.

37/37
@FundingGym
Service and attitude from workers has been in the dumps for a decade.

Trashy, price gouging in everything…

Vegas squeezes visitors on every turn.

Vegas rebranded itself as an entertainment destination apart from the “vice” industry a good while back with major investments in residencies, hosting conventions and performance venues. They don’t have just “one” economy it’s just that it’s heavily in the luxury (ent/dining/nightlife/shopping) space, which people can’t afford or where they can prefer elsewhere.

So right before the Pandemic I left my job at Roc Nation and I was tired of the music industry and djing so I went all in on betting full time. It wasn't abnormal for me to come out to Vegas for a weekend and end up staying a couple of weeks. I just LOVED Vegas. Anyways back in 2022, I ended came out to Vegas to sign up for the Circa contest, went home for week and then came back out for Canelo/GGG III. I was literally supposed to stay for a week and ending up just living in the Cosmopolitan for 7 months.

I went on a gambling run of a lifetime. I was making so much money betting, I did not care about what I spent, nor did I plan for the future. I COULD NOT lose. When I say I couldn't lose, it was ridiculous. One day I hit MGM for like 50K in baseball straight bets, I have 57,500 in cash. I take 50K and put it in the hotel safe and go back downstairs to just get some drinks and have fun. I got 7,5000 in my pocket. I'm planning on drinking and tricking on jawns. I go into the sportsbook, the Giants are down 2 runs to the Rockies in the top of the 9th. I'm HAMMERED, I say, the Giants are going to win this game, give me the whole 7500 on the Giants. They tie it up in the top of the 9th, hold the Rockies scoreless in the bottom of the 9th, take the lead in the 10th and I leave with 41K after like 15 minutes. It was shyt like that happening.

I got banned from all MGM sportsbooks because I cracked them for too much. I hit them for 30K on the Pirates and and then had another 30K on the Browns against the Steelers on TNF the same night. The next day, I came downstairs to place a 3 team parlay in baseball for 10K to win like 40K and the manager told me the head trader sent an email about me and that I was banned. I went upstairs, grabbed an extra 7 thousand and then sprinted to Caesars to put 17K on a 2 team baseball parlay for the remaining teams and that won. The manager for the MGM sportsbook at the Cosmo told me I could go over the Mandalay Bay and speak to the head trader for MGM, some black dude with no mustache named Lamarr and this man told me I was too smart.

I started betting at Caesars and they'd move the number every single time I bet I beat them so bad. The day the Suns lost a preseason game to an Australian NBL team in preseason, I had 10K on the Australian NBL team. I had 30K on the Phillies to win Game 1 against the Astros in the World Series. One random Saturday in October of 2022, I hit Caesars for 117K one night betting baseball and college football. It was just insane. I went upstairs at the Cosmo and ordered steak, lobster, wings and all types of shyt and left a 1K tip to the waiter and then invited a bunch of hoes to my room and had a threesome in the tub.

The run I was on was so ridiculous that I literally just stayed there.

I would wake up eat breakfast, go to the gym, and then go downstairs in my pajamas and bet, then I'd go shopping, go to shows and eat at great restaurants everyday. I was renting whip and switching cars damn near every week at one point. I had rented a Porsche 911 for like 3 months and then at some point I just started renting a different whip every week.

Life for me was just so much better in Vegas than in Philly. I used to have to have to hire security to take me to casinos in Philly because of the crime. I had a white dude who I called CIA Mike who used did shyt with the US Government and worked on Swat teams and shyt. He'd pick me up from my crib in a bulletproof hummer and do my pick ups with me. In Vegas, I was in the casinos and didn't have to deal with that shyt. I would just get my cash in the morning, get paid in the bank and drive to the bank while it was dead out.

I probably should have had security in Vegas but at the time I felt way safer than I was in Philly. Philly got so ridiculous that there weren't even places open to get good food at night and I got tired of that. I loved the fact that I was on PST because I could watch sports and still go to a concert, hit Usher's residency and go to Carbone or some other good restaurant.

Anyways, Vegas has this law where you can't stay at a casino for more than 28 days in a row otherwise you get Squatters rights. I ended up staying at the Cosmo for 45 straight nights before they told me I had to get the fukk out for one night. By that point, I was shopping every week and had so many clothes that it was a real job to move my stuff out of my hotel room. I packed up, went to the Venetian for one night and then went back to the Cosmo.

I was there so long, I literally flew my mom out, was flying chicks out to come see me and was getting them their own rooms.

I probably could write a book about that time in my life.

That's when I decided to move to Vegas and as soon as I closed on a condo, my life went haywire. I had to get surgery, I came back home and then I didn't get to move to Vegas until January of this year.

This some movie shyt breh :salute:

Where the discounts at if it’s so bad? Last time I was in Vegas they was starting Resort Worlds. Maybe 3-4 years ago?

I’d go back for a good deal :manny:

I mean honestly when I hear people talking about dropping 3 or 4 stacks on a weekend in Vegas, I think why? When theres so many destinations around the world that you could do a 2 or 3 week trip with that same amount

Beyonce was just there and gave them one hell of a boost.

That & Backstreet Boys having a show at The Sphere which is ongoing for a few more weeks. Otherwise, ain’t much goin’ on here. It’s da strip that’s suffering da most. Off strip casinos are allegedly making higher profits.
