:mjlol:. Black-ish is in its fourth season and is about to go into syndication. Tracee is perfectly justified in asking for more money.

That’s nice and all, she deserves more money than what she made starting out. But the problem is she wants to make the same amount as Anthony Anderson.

He not only stars in the show but he is an executive producer. He should be making more money than her.

That's not up to you to decide.

Above the fray.
If I was writer on that show I'd take trolling to the most extreme level EVER.

If TER and the ABC suits couldn't come to an agreement , I'd have these women as guest stars on the first episode

The thing that bothers me about these wage gap convos, although justified in some cases, what if dude just doubled down and negotiated. What if the male rejected the initial offer and his agents negotiated more? That means the female counterpart automatically reaps the benefits?

That's what bothered me about the situation with Mark Walberg and Michelle Williams

Dude is a Hollywood megastar and makes hundreds of millions of dollars for film studios every film he does.

He gets to use this clout to negotiate his pay. Michelle is a great actress but why should the studio pay her the same amount of money if she isn't generating the same amount as her male counterpart? Not only that, what if she didn't negotiate the way Mark and his people did and just accepted what was offered to her? This is how negotiations in these industries work. Yes, there is a gender pay gap and in some situations its not justifiable but in these cases, it clearly is. Tracee has to understand this

No thread on the controversy about Tracee Ellis Ross thinking about sitting out for "Black-ish" because she wants to make the same amount of money as Anthony Anderson?
You can't support athletes holding out and be mad at Tracee for this. People ask for raises everyday. It's not our money, so why the outrage? :mjpls:

She should had that stipulation in her contract..If it doesnt work out...she can always be replaced like the black aunt viv...

Nawwwww this ain’t the same bro.

She’s won Golden Globes, NAACP, and been nominated for Emmys. She’s as integral to the show’s acting succes as Anderson is.

Now the question is, is there a sizeable gap between the two, as ACTORS, or is Anderson’s higher pay due to him being an Executive Producer? Remember, Anderson doesn’t just EP Black-ish, he also serves as EP of Grown-ish too (alongside Larry Fishburne) so he’s going to get a bigger piece of the pie regardless.

So if there is a sizeable gap in actor’s salary then yes, Ross has the right to ask for equal pay because she’s a proven commodity of the show. Besides that it’s industry practice to give raises to actors who win the big awards. So Tracee is more than within her rights to renegotiate
