Breh, boom bap beats are easier to flow on because most of them are simple..some of the modern trap beats have unpredictable drums therefore the rapper has to perfect his flow to sound properly on the track

Which is why 95% of rappers who use trap beats can't flow better than a 6 year old. Simple ass flows with pauses in the middle of the bar, repeating the same shyt 4 times.

You could be right...
(1) But as an amateur beatmaker, I will tell you that Trap beats are not much more complicated...Some of the orchestrations you hear are not original compositions, but pre-recorded musical phrases you can find in Kontakt Complete...

The difficulty with trap beats is that it takes a lot of time to edit all those MIDI notes, and automating everything...

But just because a song sounds loud and busy, it doesn't mean it is was difficult to make...FL Studio allows you copy and paste patterns, so you can come up with 10 different patterns in a matter of minutes...

(2) The loudness and business of Trap/Drill beats overpower a rapper's ability to get professional...Those beats are made for "chants" because the main objective is to get the listener in a trance...

As a beatmaker I like both genres...

boom bap goes harder in the whip.

most trap beats be having those empty drums, that arent even geared for the whip. most of that stuff is made for headphones.

:comeon:

most of those Trap beats is nothing but 808s and.Have you ever heard Trap music in a car with 12s or 15s?

Boom Bap is headphone and boom box music

Trap is for clubs and cars with big speaker music.

You have a point, but you cant deny a good flowing rapper on a trap beat.

I fukked with FL studio back then too.IMO the situation with the trap beats is that they are easy to learn, but hard to master.Another thing is that the rapper picks the beat for the song, not the producer, therefore some of the unique beats remain unheard till someone decides to experiment and pick them. Most of the time when I watched 808 Mafia,Metro Boomin, Lex Luger etc. and their beatmaking videos, I heared much harder and unique sounding beats than you hear on other songs. There is a trend and everytime when rapper makes a hot song, everyone picks similar beats with the hope he will have the same success.

(1) I find that the trap formula is so powerful that anyone with FL Studio and the right VSTs can make a hot beat...There is very little distinction between professional trap/drill beatmakers and the amateurs on Youtube...

(2) For me the hardest thing is getting that 808 sub to sound nice...I have mastered the Trap formula, and I have literally made 10's of beats in the past 8 months, but my 808's SUCK...

I don't even use 808's...I just use a sub-sound from Autogun on Fl Studio, and I have EQ'ed it to sound like an 808 sub, and I use Fruity Kick to give it some punch...

But the orchestration is so easy, because of the formula...

This.

Trap rap or any hip hop song with heavy bass on the car :ohlawd::gladbron::dj2:

I'll play some shyt like Big Poppa or Cream but other than that, nothing but heavy bass must be played on the whip, it's an unwritten rule one must follow :stopitslime:

:what:

those beats arent made for spittas. theyre made for chanters & jibber-jabber jobbers.

:stopitslime: your logic is twisted.

generally speaking, boom bap's beat are harder and feel like punches to chest.

people love to yap about 808s and such, but today's 808s be feeling like 404s. chit doesnt go nearly as hard as trap enthusiasts & modern 808 enthusiasts in general make it seem.

the hardest beats ive heard in the past 5-6 years, mostly came from araab muzik & whoever else was doing those beats for cam & vado.

the modern era 808s and heavy bass is why more entertaining then the old school dusty snare heavy boom bap sound

imo the soul sample era is the goat

i hate to say it but ill take a lex luger beat over a rza beat....fukk it...and im from that era....I dont care what all the old dudes got to say

I agree It wasn't too much east coast rap I could deal with coming up and I'm in my 30s also.

depends on what trap & what boom-bap youre listening too.

trap is cleaner & bouncier. while boom-bap feels like a brick-sized rock hitting you in the head - and i know what that feels like.

jeezy beats go hard, luger goes hard. but alot of that other chit man, those 808s be hollow as f*ck in comparison to the 808s i came up on.
