Water is wet:ld:.

I miss the days of grimey trap though. Beats that had different musical tones and lit drum patterns ala Shawty Red and DJ Toomp. Yet, it's all tick tick tick, *insert typical 808*, tick tick titititititick, monotone melodies and so forth.

fukking boring I tell you:russell:

This.

I also miss the infamous bells that have sorta faded out

:mjcry:

fukkin this. Was always hesitant to say this shyt due to being labeled a hater. They cool and all but I just don't bump their shyt. It's Hollywood/soft/trap for white kids.

I got a love/hate relationship with this trap shyt, nowadays if you can't make this shyt interesting it's to the bushes

Trap lowkey fukked up the way I listen to music, like every time I listen to another genre of music if it doesn't have stuttering hi-hats, or booming 808's it's (sometimes) hard for me to have an engaging listen

:mjcry: This trap shyt is a gateway drug

I see dudes in this thread propping up Kendrick and Cole like they music not trap influenced :laff:

They do it too, they just make it interesting/don't rap about drugs and killing nikkas/everyday life

It's different for Kendrick/Cole/Drake they actually know how to use the beats to their strenghts

That's crazy. Seems like a lot of fans feel the same though

:patrice: If we considering songs like that trap then idk how people could say it's getting stale. I figured this thread was about the type music 21 Savage makes

There's nothing stale at all about Savage Mode though. That was some of Metro's best production overall. Some really different stuff surrounding 21 Savage's hilarious rapping

No there isn't. Ask any African breh on this forum our pop and dance music has been like that since God knows how long. Google fela kuti, kuduro, soukas, high Life, and afrobeats. If anything you have people like wiz kid and dbanj to thank because they opened up the platform for Drake (wiz kid made Drake's one dance song)

My bad ,the first track i posted aint trap at all i reckon, but the second definitely has trap layers, a track like this also

The beats were cool, but 21's rapping was already stale by then. Hopefully he just saving the good shyt for the album
